Let's do it, BBN. @caneintally hasn't had a roster projection in over a year, but it's time. I'll get the ball rolling...

C - 6'8" Osobor - 6'10" Williams
F - 6'10" Carr - 6'7" Robinsion - 6'8" Osobor
F - 6'7" Robinson - 6'5" Oweh - 6'5" Chandler
G - 6'3" Mahaney - 6'5" Oweh - 6'5" Chandler - 6'3" Perry
G - 6'2" Butler - 5'10" Hawkins - 6'3" Perry

So you're saying there is a chance?

Way more tournament experience than our team last season had.
Butler alone has more tourney experience than our entire collective rosters dating back to 2019.

2019 Herro's team: 4 games
2020 Maxey's team: 0 games
2021 Boston's team: 0 games
2022 Ty Ty's team: 1 game
2023 Oscar's team: 2 games
2024 Reeves' team: 1 game

Butler alone has surpassed six years worth of Kentucky rosters when it comes to tournament experience.

Skeptics should go ask a guy like Wayne Turner if that makes a difference in March.

Man that’s embarrassing 😂….ole CCC gettin it done

I love 'em both. It be awesome to get them both here.
Oh absolutely they’d both be great additions, I just think if it’s one or the other Wells has a bit more potential. I couldn’t imagine having both of them on the team, would be amazing

I always looked at it as Williams and Great at the 4 and 5 with Carr as a sixth man.
Also not seeing Chandler/ Perry as third stringers.
Don't see how that will work out.

Oh God no, no, no, no, no.

Cane and his arrogant player projections that are never right I was hoping that was over.

There was always something about being told an average player is the bomb and “I obviously know nothing” if I can’t see he’s a lotto. The combination of spelling errors and misplaced confidence + bad projections……I hoped that was over, or maybe I miss it.

You’d think calling Andrew Harrison a lottery pick after his freshman season would tempter Cane but he seemed to just roll on through. I do miss the way he spelled “of coarse” though, always gave me a chuckle.

I guess it’s why we’re here.

Butler, poplar, Robinson, Chandler, Perry, Williams, Carr, somebody we don’t know yet probably a PG, wells(dream add) and a a other big

Seems like a slightly better version of Mississippi State from this year. Very athletic, very defensive team that struggles to shoot from the outside and generate offense. LOT OF pressure on Hawkins to create all the offense and consistently hit outside shots.

Carr, Mahaney, and Robinson can shoot. Oweh isn’t terrible either, just had a rough stretch during conference play

I must have missed instant offense like Perry and Chandler on Mississippi State. Let’s also not forget we aren’t done getting players and players are not done entering the portal.

There is no comparison to MSU on this roster lol. You’ve got instant offense already plus POY guys defensively. These guys aren’t good defensively, they’re excellent. But pope is not going to neglect offense it’s not his system or style at all. People dang. I get it but man…

My projection:

G Butler/Perry
G Mahaney/Oweh/Chandler
G Robinson/Stojakovic
F Osobor/Carr/Power
F Williams/Boyed

The Osobor, Carr, and Williams rotation inside should be very effective. We have a little bit of everything there. Defensive big man, inside scoring presence, and a stretch 4. And physical Seniors. We need that in the SEC. Who starts in that scenario is not important. They will all three play starter minutes. I don’t know what to expect from Boyed, I see him as a depth piece inside.

Robinson is a guy I really hope decides to return to college and follows Pope here. He is a stud. Robinson, Mahaney and Oweh rotating on the wing should give us excellent production.

Butler is a winner at PG. His stats don’t jump off the page, but he’s played for a title. That means more than stats to me. I think he will be our leader next season. Mahaney will back him up.

Perry, Chandler, Stojakovic, and Power are long term investments. Not sure how much they will play, if they come here, but I would like for them to be the core of the team in years 2 and 3.

Not exactly. Tshiebwe, Mintz, Fredrick, Mitchell, and Grady all played in the tourney before coming to Kentucky. Grady played against us in 2018.

Watch BYU games on YouTube. Everyone creates shots

If your going to mimic cane you have to tell what they will score, rebound & draft projection. he thought they were all All Americans

Thanks for starting this, Saul. I'm sure glad to see your projections that we'll have both Osobor and Williams on the roster next year ! I'm pleasantly surprised by your projection that we'll also get Robinson. My only other comment is: I think Travis Perry is going to surprise a lot of RR posters, and I won't be surprised if Travis becomes the No. 1 shooting guard before we finish the 2024-25 regular season. As we all know, he's a pure shooter ! But, whatever ... Go 'Cats ! ! !

*Yes, I know Goldin is trending to Michigan, but I can dream.

Some other players whose number I like:

Aubin Gateretse - C - Stetson University - PER 26.8; ORtg 128.4; DRtg 23.3
Great Osobor - C - Utah State - PER 25.5; ORtg 116.5; DRtg 98.4

Some interesting names:

Wesley Yates III - Did not play in 2023-24, but was a top high school player in 2023
Highlights

Freds Bagatskis- Couldn't see the floor at UT Arlington or Georgia Tech, but his shot is absolute butter

I forgot to add Andrew Carr, since he is at least a name UK is in contact with:

SF-Andrew Carr (PER 20.8; ORtg 127.6; DRtg 103.2)

I'd probably take him over Otega Oweh. He seems to fit an offensive need that Oweh doesn't. However, if we land Oweh and Carr, that would be a good combo at SF.

Freds looks like a real dead eye shooter and if given screens will score on anyone. His ball never even hits or touches the rim. Money
