This is simultaneously fascinating and sickening. The interest on the debt looks like it goes up about $1,000 every second.By 2122 the US national debt will likely be $627 quadrillion.

Exactly. I used to worry about the "debt" (to the extent that I worry about anything I have absolutely zero control over), but haven't in years and years. That website is just kinda cool in how it lists all categories and keeps a running total of them.Ahhhh yes the make believe debt that we’re never going to pay back to whatever magical entity will never demand it unless they want to go to war

I remember in the mid-late 80s a lot of pundits/politicians were apoplectic when the debt reached 4 trillion and they were claiming we were on the verge of financial ruin...of course nothing happened at all.
Agreed. It’s basically monetary fear porn.I have no idea who the hell we owe debt to, or how that entity would ever even approach collecting it. At this point it seems like a silly make believe number to get people upset about government waste. At the end of the day if there isn’t anyone that can collect it it’s not debt.
Keep talking like that and people might figure out it’s all bullshit.I have no idea who the hell we owe debt to, or how that entity would ever even approach collecting it.
