say what you want about briscoe but I hope he stays we need him to help with the freshman guards and especially as a leader. He will have no bearing on Alexander or smith if call takes him. I think if briscoe does come back he's the leader we need that will help the young guys and has gotten a lot better if he were to come back I feel he could work himself into the first round and make this team completely better. I think he comes in a better shooter and you already know about his passing. I hope cal told him the same thing he told ulis. Thanks to diallo and our other recruits I feel they will land bamba and even it doesn't want to play the five bam could play the four if he comes back which we be huge. Next yr could be very special and I think guys like skj and weynen would get thrown in earlybtonshow what they have. Get briscoe and mext yr will be a final four team . As much as I hate to say it I think Knox goes to unc and duval will hopefully go overseas or to Kansa. It scares me duval will convince him to join him at puke, but with him being good friends with our recruits that has to play in big time

It is obvious to everyone, but perhaps Briscoe, that he should come back and put as much effort as he did to improve his foul shooting to improve his outside shooting. How many times would broadcasters in our game say he would be a first round pick with a reliable outside shot. He could be one of the best players in college next year with that effort.

You mean like his #'s were through 20 games? He was shooting 41% and 78 % from both in Mid January . So if he could keep that for an entire season it would help .He also does need to drop 5-10 pounds I agree but yes if he came back it would make us favorites with the addition of Bamba and someone like Smith . Knox is likely IMO is Gabriel does something stupid which I think he might but either way we will have a great player.

i would expect that of him.

He made a great stride this year. He just need to make similar stride forward. I am not sure what happened mid season, but his numbers dropped.

I believe Brisco is not coming back. Like Bam he might not hire an agent working out for the pro's but he will take his game from 2nd round NBA (no guaranteed money) or in another country. I think Gaberial comes back with SKJ and Humphries. With so many ahead of him I think Tia may transfer but not set in Stone.

I think we might get Bamba but probably lose Knox. My second best part of the season watching the kids coming in. It will definitely be interesting. No factual back up to this just my gut feeling!

I mean the kid is great at lay ups, our 3 man cannot shoot, cannot make FT's, makes the offense one dimensional, only can do one thing and that is drive and make lay ups, most college BB players can do this. Great defender? might want to find Maye on wing. Come on, this guy is same player as he was in NJ, he is same player as last year, he will be same player next year. No shot, no difference in his game. We have Diallo, Washington, and Vanderbilt who can be the driver and awesome layup maker Briscoe was. Difference are both about 6'8. Come on the last person on this team we need to come back is Briscoe.
I love the kid, love his attitude, loves his will to win. He is not going to improve and a JR. Briscoe will be more trouble than he is worth.

He also sacrificed last year and played SF with Ullis and Murray. I would love to have him back over the 2 guards Cal is recruiting. Having 3 to possibly 4 Fr. guards is going to be hard, none of them compare at all to Fox and Monk, plus look how much a veteran in Hawkins helped us out all year, Briscoe will be the best defender on the floor!!! We need him.

The only thing you have said that I can agree with is that he may be a player that is upset that he is not in the NBA. If he comes back but isn't dedicated to making himself better, and doesn't really want to be here, then you are right, he is more trouble than he is worth.

Why question people's basketball knowledge? Other posters are pointing out that he has played not just out of position, but a position he isn't really capable of playing for 2 years. There have been exactly 3 triple doubles in UK history, and he has one of them. Also, how well did he play against Georgia when Fox was out. Care to post his stats that game. How many times did he right the ship when it was sinking this year?? As others have said, if he improves as much between now and next year, as he did between last year and this year, he could be really good. While I won't go as far as the OP, Briscoe would be a nice addition to next year's team.

Wow OK, He did avg 12.1 pts (3rd on team) 5.4 rebs (3rd on team 1.4 more than any other guard) and 4.2 asst. (2nd on team). He was one of the best rebounding guards in the country. Who are the 6'6-6'9 players that can make layups?? Bam's were mostly dunks, Gabriel couldn't make a layup, Willis made most of his shots outside but he was one of the better ones, inside. But for 6'6 and 6'9 players you should be able to make a layup so that is a dumb point.

Lord the man is not a PG. He has been there 2 years and still cannot run the team, he is going to dribble the air out of ball. He is never going to be the PG, he is what you see. A 50% FT shooter, terrible outside shooter. Please just admit what he is and not try to build the guy up to something he cannot do. Gabriel is going to be a force next year, Briscoe is going to be same player. It wouldn't bother me so much but the building up of the kid to something he is not is total nonsense. He is what he is, a hard worker, a guy who is very limited in his game. I will be fine to have him come back being mad at world because he has to go to class and not in NBA. Briscoe is not the greatest pg which I'm fine with that. I love his presence on the court and feel he would be a tremendous asset to next yrs team being so young. He may not be the best of shooters, but it's hard to deny what he's done from yr to yr 2. He's become a better overall player hitting fts, ball handling and the occasional 3. He's not great but is a very good player that could help tremendously next yr
