I'm still thrilled with this team and for UK's future even after the Arkansas loss!

Everyone who claims to be a basketball aficionado should have seen this coming from a mile away. The bad game just took longer to arrive than I thought it would.

Now that everyone has come back down from cloud nine I hope we can discuss some of the team's shortcoming without all the drama.

The good news is that the team will recover and win plenty of games.

The bad news is that there will be more Ohio State type performances in their future.

The questions remain: how often, and can they avoid one in the tournament.

I am wait and see. I am disappointed in the way we get pushed around. And composure. Only time will tell.

I feel really good about the future better talent is on the way the coach understands the BBN now the biggest question mark is NIL

Pope came on board with no team. The early success spoiled many as originally most were thinking this season was simply going to be a wash. No matter what does anyone think the Arkansas team (which would have been the Kentucky team) would have been better?

Honestly I’d say just about the same in terms of this season. Nowhere near close for the future. Cal was going nowhere. Pope seems to have a firm grasp on where the game is heading and how to deal with it.

I'll take this any day over Cal. People seem to forget that Pope had to cobble together a team at the last minute. UK will be more than fine!
I agree, considering, every player on this team was playing somewhere else last year. I figure we may lose 8 to 10 games considering conference schedule but this coach will go into the conference and NCAA tournament wanting to actual win, something that has been missing for years.

It showed me that Pope lacks a killer instinct, and his players and staff (so far) are a reflection of that!

Under no circumstances, should a last place conference rival, with a deflated former head coach, and a team of former players and player commitments, come into your house, their former home that they failed, and proceed to pull your underwear over your head as they take your lunch money!

If your team is not ready for that challenge, then you failed as a coach. Period.

And don’t come at me with injuries, because the same group had just beat a formidable UT team in TB Arena!

I think we play better as underdogs, when we are the favorite we play equal to the team we are playing.

I hate losing to Cal & Arky.

That being said, I had us picked to go 21-11 or 22-10 at the beginning of the year. If you had told me that Lamont Butler, Kriisa & Carr would miss significant time with injuries, I would have said this won’t even be a tournament team. I have to step back and look at the body of work. Pope has done a fine job all things considered.
