I'm afraid we're looking at the 3rd NIT in 7 years.

We'd have to completely collapse to blow an NCAA bid.

Not impossible, but highly unlikely IMO.

Today was absolutely horrible though. So I'm not taking anything for granted.
Agree. It's silly at this point to predict we'll miss the NCAA. It can happen but it's really remote. In '13 it took losing our best player, our PG quitting the team 2 or 3 times and a couple of terrible blow out losses. None of those things have happened yet for this team. Even with all that the '13 still almost got in. It will take a collapse for us to not make it.

A little bit of perspective....yes it appears that Cal cannot run an offense without a low post scoring threat. And yes we are no longer a lock for the tournament and making the NIT is NEVER okay at UK. But imagine Cal announced tom he is taking the Nets job and think about how that would effect the program.

You think that I'm happy that this team is dropping games to teams with losing records halgway thru the season? And you all are willing to accept this?

Spoke volumes when Cal had an assistant out recruiting instead of coaching. How pathetic of a decision is that?

I'm willing to accept that this team looks mediocre right now. I'm not willing to accept quitting on the team as a fan in mid-January, not when 2011 and 2014 loom large in the historical background.

Jeez it's only mid-January. There's a long way to go for these young men. Quit the belly aching. Damn I hate fair weather fans. Hell they lost a team an half from last year. By March they'll be fine.
How long are people going to keep saying this? When we lost to UCLA it was "it was our first road game." when we lost to ohio state it was "wait till camp cal."

I'm sorry but even decent teams don't get blown out by teams that are 1 game over .500 and melt down against a team with a losing record.

And I come off looking like an idiot?

UK's players have to recognize the hot shooter for the opposing team and make the sumabitch drive the ball. They didn't do that today and it killed them.

Just another growing pain.

Cal never had a low post scoring threat at memphis or UMass. These aren't excuses. Cal is more concerned with producing NBA ALL STARS than winning college games at this point. I'm sorry that you all are too dense to see this.

How was that 2014 team? They lost 11 games and came within 5 minutes of winning it all. If there's no more growth by March, I'll be pissed, but history has taught us to be patient with Cal's young teams. I'm a bit surprised you've ignored that reality, even in your raw emotional state.

Is this satire? You can't be serious, what with you being an educated man and all.

We get production from our front court and we are a top 10 caliber team..... But like every other team in the nation ...get no inside production and the team is average at best..... No team can play great having to rely solely on the back court for production.

The best thing to hope for is that Poy, Skal and Lee all come to play with 100% effort every game in the tournament.
