I'll give Cal his credit.

I had some issues with his sub patterns at the very beginning of the game. However, I agree he coached a good game tonight. I have no issue with the stall ball in a situation like tonight.

The man shows sparks every now and then.

Maybe jurist maybe he’s realizing his ass is on the line a bit. He’s out of the hole I dug in the backyard but he’s still very much in the dog house.
Nonsense.

He coaches now just like he has for 30+ years.

Except he’s better with experience.

Cal is the best coach in college basketball.

Great win! Great effort on the court and from the sidelines.

There isn't any reason why we don't see that type of preparation and effort every game

well said, BBNCal02. As usual, I like your posts.

Cal will remain in my doghouse. Tonight, he simply did his JOB.

it's what he is paid to do. The unforgivable losses earlier were a DIRECT result of him NOT doing his JOB. This Kentucky has no business finding itself where it's at right now. Should have done so much better this season. I still want to see them succeed, and yes, for Cal to succeed too. But I am done with any optimistic appraisal of his coaching ability.

He's sucked the fun out of Kentucky basketball for me a long time ago.

It was a nice win. takes a little bit out of the intense dislike I've got for the man. As well as the disappointment for the team. Hard for 19, 20 year olds to make up for such a vast issue, when a better COACH could do so much more with even less.
Thanks for making a happy thread celebrating a victory suck

He finally played the Bennie lineup for the most part.

Ugo 36 minutes
Reeves 34 minutes
Thiero 32 minutes
Shep 30 minutes
DJ 24 minutes
Dilly 18 minutes
Edwards 18 minutes

I hate to say it but defensively be appear to be better without Tre in the lineup...
When he comes back I'd give him the backup 4/5 minutes. Thiero and Ugo have earned the starting spots, imo. But then I'm somebody who likes to start the best players.

I would where possible substitute Tre for offense and Theiro for defense, but that's presuming TM can come back and be the player he was earlier in the season.

Ugo absolutely is the man at the 5.

Overall he done enough to win but he’s got to get the rotation right and guess what he has the players to do that. I loved our defensive effort tonight, we got to bring it!

Yeah, this was an old school Calipari win. They controlled the game from start to finish. I didn't see it coming. He deserves credit, no doubt.

I always give Cal credit when he comes around to what we’ve been saying. Just wish it would happen more.

That’s not really true at all. We have an unreal collection of talent that needs leadership. That said, kudos to someone that got them prepared for once and tried another defense, albeit for one possession.
Someone else? Okay fine. As least someone coaching this team worked this week and earned this win.

I will say this I FULLY understand the bashing in large part of Cal last season and the upset in the tourney the year before ( though we had a great season before that upset ) but I flat out don't get it the last couple of weeks . I believe he has coached his ass off with this team but we have been so so injured along with being so so young for the most part . I have never waivered from my belief if we go into the tourneys healthy we will win the SECT and get to the final 4 bare minimum. We play in the best conference in basketball and against veteran teams with a lot of NBA talent in teams like UT , Bama to a lesser extent UF , AU , USC . We won't be without 2-3 players in games like that and expect to win always. I thought we had our guys ready to play the last 2 games especially but that was in large part becuase he could play the players he wanted to when he wanted to. DJ might be the 5th most talented player but he without a doubt is the 2nd most important player as he leads us and especially on D sets the tempo . When he is out there Ding up all the guys seem to follow suit. Sorry for rambling I just disagree with this notion Cal sucks ect ect. He is one of the top 5 cbb of the last 30 years and while he needed to change things up last offseason he did and when we are healthy I LIKE MY TEAM.

The thread from earlier today where a few people were predicting a W and morons were saying things like " only if we switch coaches could we win " and garbage like that shows how out of touch with reality some are on here. No team is going to win missing 2 starters against other great teams . The UF loss is the one loss this season that was flat out unacceptable . Yes the UNC whoever loss was as well but that was early on and we were without any of the bigs basically still AND DJ. UF loss though Cal deserves loads of criticism for .
