I'll give Cal his credit.

Couldn’t believe what I saw. He was into the game, called timeouts at the right time, and was excellent with subs.

Best of all, he showed us defense. We have the offense all day long - just throw in that defense and we will be TOUGH.

Was this our turning point? We will see (and I’m skeptical as Cal has the tendency to go lazy after a good win). But if we play like this against the rest of the teams this season, we might make a dent.

He also stayed relatively cool on the sidelines.

well said, BBNCal02. As usual, I like your posts.

Cal will remain in my doghouse. Tonight, he simply did his JOB.

it's what he is paid to do. The unforgivable losses earlier were a DIRECT result of him NOT doing his JOB. This Kentucky has no business finding itself where it's at right now. Should have done so much better this season. I still want to see them succeed, and yes, for Cal to succeed too. But I am done with any optimistic appraisal of his coaching ability.

He's sucked the fun out of Kentucky basketball for me a long time ago.

It was a nice win. takes a little bit out of the intense dislike I've got for the man. As well as the disappointment for the team. Hard for 19, 20 year olds to make up for such a vast issue, when a better COACH could do so much more with even less.

We didn’t have a choice except to play stall ball because we couldn’t run any offense. All we could do was play keep away and drive it one on one.
Auburns ball pressure and physicality definitely bothered us and prevented us from getting into a rhythm, but it wasn't just one on one. Down the stretch we were running tons of things for Reeves, and it opened up a wide open pass to Thiero (great read from Sheppard on that). It worked very well.

Lsu on Wednesday will tell us everything about this coach and team. Mega trap game between auburn and bama.

That was an impressive display and I must admit, unexpected! Cal had them ready to compete tonight.

Played much better effort defensively and was surprised Bradshaw got the minutes he deserved.

We'll see if they build on this Tuesday night or fall into a trap.
Bradshaw was so excited, jumping up and on guys heading into the locker room!

He finally played the Bennie lineup for the most part.

Ugo 36 minutes
Reeves 34 minutes
Thiero 32 minutes
Shep 30 minutes
DJ 24 minutes
Dilly 18 minutes
Edwards 18 minutes

I hate to say it but defensively be appear to be better without Tre in the lineup...

If we're being fair, Cal should get credit for wins if he takes the blame for losses.
That’s not really true at all. We have an unreal collection of talent that needs leadership. That said, kudos to someone that got them prepared for once and tried another defense, albeit for one possession.

This was a great win and it’s kudos to Cal for having a great game plan coming in. Just got to keep pushing forward ….

I am very happy eating crow tonight. I figured we would drop this game by a ton. Did not see us being the physical team. And still have not seen the game yet. I guess I can watch tomorrow night on SEC Network at 10pm. Happy for the team. Maybe we are starting to buy into what needs to be done to get the W. We will see. Many more hard games to play before post season. But this is a great start.

There will be several posters not show up tonight unless it is to complain about Z’s mins!

Cal is far from perfect, and has lost a good percentage of the fan base.

But, he had them ready tonight! Let’s hope the last 2 games is formula for deep SEC and NCAA run.
