I am not pulling for Kansas as much as I am pulling against Cal. That won't always be the case, but this year, absolutely.
Would it be better if I told you my preference would've been for both of them to tank enough that they would've missed the tournament altogether?
Yeah I hope Cal continues his one and out in the tournament this season! I liked Cal for a long time and he was the right guy for a long time! But he sure turned a lot of our fan base against him the past 4-5 years! I don’t wish anything good on Arkansas!
As long as Cal is the Arkansas coach I hope they lose every game. Let’s just say I hope Arkansas runs out of time.
If Cal beats Kansas (worst KU team I can remember in a while) and St Johns (he’s had pitinos number), he’ll be unbearable

It’s crazy that anyone on here doesn’t prefer Arkansas. We have a great chance to add some buffer to our wins lead over Kansas. Arkansas is not a title threat. What’s the problem if they get one first round win? It’s good for Kentucky.

Don’t believe anyone will bludgeon then cause they’ve got a decent squad. With Fland Back I think they could make a run,.
But may be bad matchup with KU and Dickerson as he can back down Z or anyone else at the rim. I know they beat ‘em early in preseason but Self will feed it down low and make it hard on them.
All depends on how Arkansas and Kansas shoot. Arkansas shoots well outside they win, if Kansas does they win.
One could become two for Kansas and then, maybe more. If they go on a deep run and we don’t our wins lead gets very uncomfortable.
But sure, let the guy who won a title here (and gave us exactly what we wanted by leaving voluntarily) be a bigger villain than the only team that’s capable of taking our wins lead away. That seems rational.
They started improving the very first game they played without him . They would have never made the tournament if he had stayed healthy.

Not my first time. I was Rock Chalk Jayhawk early in the season when they beat Duke .
I don't think he is some major villain, but he was a smug, arrogant jerk to fanbase over the last few years ALL WHILE underachieving in major ways.
So, as I stated before, maybe not long term. However, for this year... I am absolutely pulling against Cal.
As for Kansas, if Pope & Co. make it to the S16, and KU loses in the 2nd round to SJU, then UK still gets a net gain on the Jayhawks. If that happens AND Cal gets to lose in the first round... again. Win, Win
I mean yeah, if Kansas wins I’m not going to lose any sleep over it. I’ll even laugh about it, it would be funny. But I still prefer gaining wins over Kansas, as many as possible. That’s the bigger long term plus for Kentucky. Cal losing doesn’t really benefit us beyond our own amusement.
