Fari enough. I'm not salty though I can admit I wanted him. I just don't think picking Mississippi State shows he values winning above other aspects. Personally, I'd want o play where I had the best chance at winning a championship, bettering myself under a proven coach, and becoming part of a family tradition that can help you for generations. He's not going to get much of that at State.

But yea it's kind of pointless talking about it anyway.

fwiw - Howland isn't chopped liver, exactly - he does have 3 FFs under his belt. Newman's choice at least makes SOME sense

Some of the people in this thread, I guarantee, will make a post after an embarrassing loss by MSU, UNLV, California, etc. And if 1 of the players we recruited had a bad game will know that players stat line. I will keep up with them. Yes, Kentucky is my favorite team, and I hope a lot of these recruits flop and stay in college multiple years, only because it will make a point to future classes, playing for UK and Calipari helps your draft stock. Some in this thread will follow Malik Newman, Stephen Zimmerman, Jaylen Brown almost as much as Skal, Matthews, and Briscoe. They will even go as far to make stat comparisons, nba mock draft comparisons, etc.

Cal should recruit more Kentucky boys. Their is no question where there loyalty are. Plus when they get drafted they bring all that NBA money back to the commonwealth

It would be nice if there was more talent in the state. Can't take a kid just because he bleeds blue.

If every kid thought this way UK football wouldn't have any players. Kind of odd for a coach to think like this...you don't know what these kids are thinking, lots of reasons kids choose to play ball at other places. You think only bluebloods consider their team and program family? And how is Howland not a proven coach?

I agree with Don, don't care about them, not going to dog them for some silly made up reasons though. Of course the kid wants the ball, but you can bet he isn't thinking they will be in last place, which they may very well be, but he isn't thinking it.

And BobbyG is a UNC fan, swears on a stack of bibles the bball team is innocent, even worse.

IMO, a top recruit that chooses a school like California, has no desire to be in the spotlight and doesn't care about winning NCAA championships.

Yep, just spend a few months in California before being drafted.

Like Cal said, Kentucky is not for everybody. Some are just content with just being and not being a part of something special. You have to have a drive like no other and a want to be challenged. At UK, it is about going all the way, all others are content just to make it to the dance.
