Who would you pick?

I'd go with...

1. Goose Givens 1978 uniform
2. Jamal Mashburn 1993 (swoosh across one leg)
3. Derek Anderson 1996 (denim)
4. Jeff Sheppard 1998 (silver trim)
5. Anthony Davis 2012

Best uniform Kentucky has ever had.

I actually have one of those black Keightley jerseys (maybe my favorite piece of UK memorabilia) so they would def be in my top 5.

Other 4 would be:

-'05 throwbacks (seen above)
-'12 platinum MKG jersey

-'03 Bogans

- And although they're not one of my favorite looking ones, gimme a Delk denim jersey for the historical significance.

Kentucky does need to step up their uni game. Liked the black jerseys, even enjoyed the grey ones from a few years back.

Recruits love the various apparel and jerseys. Use it to our advantage.

Surprised all of summer has come and gone and not one thread on possible new uniforms this year.
Wonder if we are sticking with the checkers at least for the beginning.

Anyone know when photo day is?

1993, 1996, 2003, 2005, 2012 and also the platinum ones. I believe they were also from 2012. The black ones above are sweet too. I know a lot of UK fans that absolutely despised the 1996 denim jerseys. I'm the total opposite. Really liked those. The end result that year wasn't too shabby either. The GOAT of college basketball teams. No college team in history beats that team in a best of 7. None.

This isn't a throwback but how about a "coal dust" color like the football team has(recognition of our coal heritage)? Maybe they can have one with chrome colored numbers/letters? Recruits like flashy uniforms. Anything would beat those cat claws shorts from 94 or 95

Christ.. We can wear our colors for 85% of the games you dingus. Would it kill you if we threw some fresh Unis in there that got the players excited?

I'll tell you this, they dont care about keeping tradition like you might. We can throw them something a few times a year..

The Black checkerboard Jodie Meeks I think his final year (my FAV)
Wall Year Home and away (Checkerboard)
96 denim
95 tiger strips
Silver vs MSU I think around 01-02 sometime

IMO the Checkerboard patterns During BCG and Cal's early years were the best.

I would rather not do what the football team is doing with the Oregon different uni every game gimmick. One or two alternates a season is fine, but stick with the base uni 90% of the time. And don't tell me about recruits loving it. We get kids that want to go to the NBA will Cal's help. Plain unis are sure hurting Saban's recruiting, right?

Anyway, I like all the usual suspects for throwbacks in this thread. 78s, 03s, black, denim. ...and yes, I like the checkers and hope we keep them for a long time.

I am thinking that the worse uni years were the Pitino years. Notice how bad UL uniforms have looked the years he has been there? It shows you Rick is in total control and his hands are in everything.

Rick knew about Minardi!

Also, is '78 the last year the Cats did not have the names on the back of their jerseys?

I like the Oregon concept wish we would do it more. Why you ask? Well its because the kids like that shit now..

I forgot about those gray ones those are up there as well.

I like one classic look. Maybe dust off something different once a year like Notre Dame football with the green jerseys.

These throwbacks were love or hate unis but I loved them. The silver was beautiful with the blue and the old time blue belt made them for me.

One of the coolest things we ever did on uniforms was give a little CAT paw patch for each double double during the season. Walker had 9 in the 1996 season and you can see them in this picture.
