If you could add 1 player to this team....

I am going to go with Art Still at DE for a defensive player and Warren Bryant at LOT. I would love to say Cobb because I absolutely loved that kid but IMO those two would address two of the most questionable positions on this team. UK has very good talent at the WR positions.

Bryant and Still are also two of the best football players I ever saw in a UK football uniform. Still could shut down one side of the field and his back side pursuit was unreal. Coaches just did not run at Still. Warren Bryant is likely the best OL I ever saw play at UK and I have seen most of them.

IMO if you put those two on this UK team they are contenders for the SEC East. They were that good.

I will however say if I could transfer what ever Cobb has that makes him great to every other player I would pick Cobb because there is just something about that kid that is hard to explain.

I think I remember Still and Bryant lined up side by side on some goal line plays. Is that correct?

It is entirely possible that this happened but it was a long time ago and truly I don't remember if this was something that happened.

76 and 77 UK had some real horses on those teams. IMO UK was the best team in college football in 77.

Trevathan and Lindley. We desperately need Trevathan's speed at LB and Lindley's cover ability and leadership.

Remember those years vividly!!! Yes, Still frequently was in the offensive line for goal line situations.

Agree 100%!!!

Coaches rarely ran to Still's side and when they ran in the other direction he was frequently chasing the ball carrier down from behind.

And Bryant--just WOW! He was listed at 6'5" and 260#. That may have been his weight as a freshman. But when I saw him coming out of the hotel in Atlanta for the Peach Bowl in a suit he was mammouth. I was about 6'2" and 225# at the time and felt like a dwarf in comparison.

Some of my best memories of UK football over the 50+ years I've been a fan was watching Bryant knock a defensive lineman down at the line of scrimmage and then go looking for some poor linebacker or defensive back to assault. I swear you could see the linebackers' a$$es pucker when Bryant came their way. And the defensive backs--they just looked for some place to hide.

Harris from this year's recruiting. Why? Because you have to keep these kids and it says Kentucky is off limits to other recruiters.

from the past, Art. Plain and simple.

From past UK teams, who would it be?

Randall Cobb and Tim Couch are the 2 best UK players of my lifetime....but at QB and WR/AP, I don't think you're getting the best return of investment for this particular UK team.

Thoughts?
Dallas Owens tough smart DB, took Chuck Fusina first int in forever to the house UK never looked back again in '77
