Cal has saved us and its been an unprecedented run, but we are not invincible.


I think this is why I have taken such a devil's advocate type of position on here. I just read so much bullshit on here from our fans about us being invincible. Well what about 2013 when we ended up in the NIT? Do I think Mulder is LeBron? No, but to act like he couldn't have significant impact at an opposing school is foolish. I bet not one person on here was bothered when UL brought in Luke Hancock. Im sure several thought "big deal". Then he goes on to be Final Four MVP. The point is, our opponents can load up and make moves the same as we can. Duke and Coach K have won two titles in this Coach Cal one and done era.


Again, i think many on here need to cool it with their entitlement. Dont' know how many times i read on here about "oh this team is going to be trash next year, or that team is going to suck, or yeah they can't beat us, etc etc". Gets old as hell. UL lost Jones and everyone thought "oh they'll be lucky to make it to the tournament". Then Pitino lands them in the Elite Eight with a legitimate shot at the final four. So annoying how so many on here act like UK is untouchable and everyone else sucks. This is obviously not true considereing UK has one national title in the Cal era.

I try to see message boards like they're real life.

I would much rather run into somebody in the world who was giddily, almost insanely optimistic than a "realist" whose first notion was to talk about other teams before his own.

To me the optimists and the pessimists both bring nothing to the board. There are a few posters here who bring an objective take each time, who lace realism in with the fact that they're a fan, and it's obvious when you read them that they are both open to talking about the truth, no matter if it's good or bad.

Blind cynicism is no better than its opposite. In fact on a message board it's worse, because you never can tell if the cynics are actually fans. You run into those people in the real world and they make you sad at best and angry at worst.

Hate to say it, but part of me agrees with you here. Others are getting it done too. I don't agree that UofL becomes some big threat if they add Mulder though.

Yes, the entitlement is a bit much these days. Love Cal and hard to argue with 4 final fours in 6 years. That being said, not sure I'll ever get over his refusal to go zone vs UCONN (until down 15) and going stall ball this year vs WISC. I think without those blunders we have at least 1 more title than we do now, maybe 2. It's ok to be upset with coaching moves. He is not beyond criticism. Doesn't mean I want another coach. Hard not to think about what could have been and in many cases what should have been.

Now, it looks like he has his eyes set on Louisville. The guy is a troll and I've called him out for years. He DISAPPEARS when UK is winning. He is also a BIG Bruce Pearl lover. I'm glad others are seeing him for what he truly is.

Yes I do like Bruce Pearl, and think he could be very successful here. Then again I used to think you could wheel in any stiff off the street and they could be successful but Billy G proved me wrong on that.
