If they play football for another 1000 years, that will be worst play call

Worst call ever in a super bowl? Run it twice with your star back and if that doesn't get it so be it.
You know Marshawn Lynch is 1-4 in 1 yard line carries... not exactly a gimmie. 20%

Yeah but he had 3 downs.

Terrible play call --- perhaps the worst in modern Super Bowl history --- but glad it was made :)

I see this stat being thrown around this morning. Context is everything. Which run defense were those 4 carries against? Because the Pats are horrible in short yardage run situations. Here is Bill Barnwell, from Grantland and for my money the best NFL commentator out there:

As I mentioned in my second-best power running team and the sixth-best team at avoiding stuffs. If there was ever a matchup that called for a team to live and die on the back of its running game from the 1-yard line, this was it.
They blew it. Any other conclusion is simply from thinking too much about it.....

I was flummoxed by both that call and BB's decision not to use his time out and his decision not to cede the TD and get the ball back with maybe 30 seconds left and only needing a FG (shades of Hal Mumme in the Music City Bowl ...).

Just a really bizarre finish.
