Wrong AD that gets you the Wrong Coach. Stoops will NEVER rise much higher than what you see today. We need a younger, aggressive AD. Barnhart is at the root of problems in both basketball and football because of contracts awarded to these coaches that serves to disincentivize them. Barnhart has aged out and lazy. He wants to coast into his retirement without having to "work" to find the right coaches to replace them. He just pays them to allow himself to coast. Why can’t UK? A much smaller school with less resources.

They have endowments worth millions. They are also a private school. Texas, Texas Aand M, Baylor and TCU all have loads of cash. TCU signed 8-9 4 Star players and most from Texas. In reality, Texas is a hot bed of HS footbalStudent population 10.5K . They are a small university.
Playing in the big12 to get there, then play good but overrated/not elite big10 team.
Kansas State won the big12 championship...take a look what the 4 or 5th best SEC team did to them in a bowl game.
It’s a smaller school with more resources. It’s also possible they caught lightning in a bottle. Had the playoffs existed in 1976 it’s possible that UK could have been in their position. Much harder climb to do in the SEC than B12. Could TCU have beaten UGA, UT and random team from the west? Maybe they get one but could they get them all in the same season? They lost to Kansas State and we saw what happened to K State vs Bama. If UGA beats them by 20+ are they still a juggernaut? Don’t know but it will be fun to find out.Why can’t UK? A much smaller school with less resources.
Yeah but play Georgia every season, and at least 2 teams with at least equal the talent of the best big 12 team with Tenn and Florida, plus let’s say Kentucky makes it through that part of the schedule there waits a west opponent who has been in the playoff like 80% of the time since it started.
Much much tougher road than TCU had this season.
I can’t imagine TCU is 13-1 in the sec. However they could go out and beat Georgia and that changes everything
+1Size of their student population isn’t really relevant.
TCU has an endowment worth ~$2.5B. That’s about 25% larger than UK’s endowment.
TCU may be a small school, but there is still big money down there that supports them.
Under CMS, UK has scored 50+ in seven games. Tenn-Martin (2x), Charlotte, New Mex St (2x) and UL (2x). IF you consider UL a Power 5 team, then last time was in 2021.When’s the last time we put up 50 on a power five team? Let alone a good team?

While I agree on the definite recruiting advantage they have with Texas high school football, the schedule “excuse” doesn’t hold water this year.
TCU has played 8 bowl eligible teams on their 2022 schedule, going 8-1, while playing K St twice. They’ve played 8 games so far against Top 25 ranked schools, and are 7-1.
UK has played 9 bowl eligible teams in their 2022 schedule, while going 5-4. They played 6 games against Top 25 ranked schools, going 3-3.
I’m just chalking it up to a more talented team, that was much better coached, while playing everyone on their schedule tougher than we did.
I don’t know why our fans think this, but we have a lot that do. Kentucky brings in more money than at least half of the SEC, much less the rest of the country. We are usually in the Top 10-15 highest revenue producing schools in the country, as well. All of this was even before the SEC Network money.$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Why would you think that TCU facilities are better than UK'S.Again, you’re focusing on the wrong things when it comes to assessing TCU’s resources. What matters is how much wealth their boosters have.
Over the past decade, TCU has done two major upgrades to their football stadium. The first cost $164 million and the most recent cost $113 million.
Both of those upgrades were 100% funded by boosters. TCU didn’t have to spend a dime. And they recently announced another $40 million upgrade to their football facilities and after just a couple of weeks, they’ve already received donations of $20 million.
TCU may have a small enrollment, but they have boosters with very deep pockets.
Before we go anointing Sonny Dykes the next Nick Saban can we see a sample size > 1 season at TCU? He is now 84-64 during his career meaning he was 71-63 before the season started which is about the same as Stoops current record of 66-59. He was 19-30 at Cal his only other gig in a P5 conference. Is he good or did he get extremely lucky? If TCU plays Michigan 10 times how many does it win? If UGA puts a beat down on them what does it say?Pretty dumb thread. Do some of you people even have perspective and knowledge to understand what TCU "did"? That this TCU team's accomplishments haven't been done before in the 150 yr history of CFB?.
5-7 last yr, 1st yr coach, took in 13 transfers, picked 7th out of 10 in Big 12, unranked in top 25, started wrong qb beginning season. Now 13-1 & playing for the natty.
Never. Been. Done.

Amon G Carter was also a very small man. As a jockey, he weighed 98 lbs soaking wet (which means he shouldn’t have been standing under his horse).Amon G Carter stadium capacity of 45K...very small.
Yet up until the 23 class, UK has had higher ranked classes past few yearsThey have a better instate recruiting pool and they play in an easier conference. It's pretty obvious.
Small but a superb, modern stadiumAmon G Carter was also a very small man. As a jockey, he weighed 98 lbs soaking wet (which means he shouldn’t have been standing under his horse).
So is UK'S...been to every venue in SEC but Ark and Auburn. Outside of needing a better sound system, UK'S is as nice as any and better than several.Small but a superb, modern stadium
I'm not even going to be closeUGA 50. TCU 28
In 2021 TCU was 5-7 & fired their longtime legendary coach, UK was 10-3
Pretty silly to jump in one brief moment and crown someone's ass. Esp a team & coach doing something never been done in the history of CFB. Saban was 6-6 his yr 1, Kirby 7-5, what bums!!!
TCU has lightning in a bottle, won all games but the last in a very very avg conference. A down Oklahoma, a down Iowa St, a down Ok St, a still-not-back-Texas, down Baylor, fun but still not good Kansas. 13 transfers infused them with perfect hole pluggers, and had a qb just ball out.
They are a fun story, I personally hope they win the title! But any UK fan, or hell fire any fan of the 130 other schools to point to them and say "why can't we do that!?!?" is jus
I had no idea. Good to hearI don’t know why our fans think this, but we have a lot that do. Kentucky brings in more money than at least half of the SEC, much less the rest of the country. Kentucky can pay whatever any other school wants to pay for staff, facilities, etc.
