If TCU can

My thoughts too. How did they get that good to be in the championship? If they can, we can...but, we likely can't in my lifetime.

This year the stars lined up -- or so we thought -- and we were going to win 10 or 11 games. Given the near antiquity of Stoops' tenure, you would have thought we'd be solid at every position, that we would reload instead of retool. So, a typical Kentucky ending...dreary, drab, disappointing, and disheartening. We seem to climb a much, much steeper hill than most others in the college football world. At this point in Stoops' tenure, we should be better. Every team at every school should have their sights set on the championship game, and should be building their programs in a way that will best achieve that goal. Once again, a giant step backwards...so what else is new?

Student population 10.5K . They are a small university.

Tuition is $57,000 a year. So they make up for a small enrollment.

Also looking at some numbers, I think they spent $10 million more on football than we did in some ranking sites (not sure which year it is).

Its a good question. Its strange to see the lower seeds make it to the championship. I' m ready for the 12 team playoff. With that are we expecting to be a playoff team in the near future. What should our expectations be going forward.

We don’t run a modern offense and Stoops values the running game too much! All these games needed over 45 points to win. Stoops isn’t putting 50 points on the board with our offense. Heck, we didn’t score any today!

I mean, we also play Vanderbilt, South Carolina, Missouri, and Florida every year who haven’t been good in a long time. It’s not like we play in the west.
Agreed ... How many coaches have those four (4) schools had during Stoops' tenure ??

Until we beat a Bama or UGA and have that on our resume we will never make a playoff, hell we rarely beat UT, and given their current coach we will not beat them anytime soon. The committee will never give us enough respect to get in without that kind of signature win.

Yeah but play Georgia every season, and at least 2 teams with at least equal the talent of the best big 12 team with Tenn and Florida, plus let’s say Kentucky makes it through that part of the schedule there waits a west opponent who has been in the playoff like 80% of the time since it started.

Much much tougher road than TCU had this season.

I can’t imagine TCU is 13-1 in the sec. However they could go out and beat Georgia and that changes everything

They didn’t have an easier schedule than you guys.
Big 12 will always be easier. I don't care if the east is down. I've loved Kansas State for a long time but that's the toughest opponent on their schedule. Who's their next toughest? Crappy Texas? Talk about the SEC East being down all you want but Tennessee, Georgia, and South Carolina are better than anyone they played.

Different coaching philosophies...that's it. Period.

Texas should have beaten Alabama, Kansas State beat Missouri by 3 touchdowns. The SEC is the best conference but not all teams have that hard of a schedule. TCU SOS is 11, Kentucky’s is 33.

Stoops will NEVER PUT THIS TEAM IN A PLAYOFF.
Never, not saying your wrong because honestly I don't know. I feel like he has the resources too if more get on board with nil. Not in a 4 team playofff but a 12 team playofff why not.

TCU may or may not have had a easier schedule than we did but, they are in the championship game with similar talent and only marginally better resources. A bold, aggressive offensive approach can pay huge dividends. Unfortunately, Stoops will never embrace a high-powered, up tempo approach.
