if lsu gets in...

I agree. Very civil discussion, but anyone who can't see how bad of a coach Johnny Jones is either doesn't watch much basketball or doesn't know much basketball.

I don't see them getting too far. Simmons plays like he's already in the NBA.

ha! well played....maybe, just maybe, those downing jones dont watch as many LSU games as i do. i have stated last year the job didnt get done. first two years im not gonna get on him for. not all coaches are made like calipari when dealing with young teams(2nd yr.).

check out my history on the board. more of a football fan than basketball. hence, my avatar. as far as jones not having simmons get the ball in the last few minutes...cant argue. he/they blew it...no way around it. ive said myself jones isnt great, just dont think he is as bad as some believe.
Agree to disagree, JJ is a mid major coach at best.

I'll play. 2013-2014 UK Wildcats and they made it all way to the championship game.
I'm talking about hype during the season after the losses pile up. Once we started losing the media turned on us and said one and done can't work without an Anthony Davis on the roster. The ESPN/Ben Simmons love affair has been a whole other level.

Texas was the same way the year they had Durant, can't blame the media for wanting to drawing attention to a team that has a player like Simmons. Kid is the most obvious # 1 pick I've seen since LeBron. Note: That Durant led Texas team got bounced in the 1st round.
Ben Simmons is going to cost some folks their jobs. That kid does not have the killer instinct to become the player he's being hyped as. He completely flopped in the matchup with Buddy Heild. His best talent is his passing but no NBA team is going to make him their point guard. Brandon Ingram will be the better player at the next level. That kid is a 6'9 guard with crazy length and shoots 40% from three. Ben's numbers are inflated a bit IMO because he's asked to do EVERYTHING for LSU.

kid is only 19..just because he isnt demonstrative doesnt mean he lacks killer instinct. showed a glimpse when carrera tried messing with him...its there. everyone likesingram, kid is a baller. in regard to inflated numbers, why wouldnt you ask simmons to do as much as possible? he is the best player on the team. i can undestand scoring being inflated due to shot attempts(not the case here)... rebounding and assist? how are those inflated?

U.K. Had 10 losses going into the tournament

LSU's coach is not among the elite, but he's not exactly chump change. I would have made a few decisions here and there that were different from what he ended up calling, but that doesn't make him him the deranged idiot some on here are making him out to be.

LSU is a very young team that also has a couple of veterans who are decent. Sound familiar? LSU's performance this year says way less about LSU and much more about what a remarkable job Calipari has done almost every year he has been at Kentucky in getting his young guys to play together. Just because Jones isn't as adept as Calipari in pulling it off does not make him a poor coach. By comparison to Cal, most every coach in America is a poor coach. LSU is proof that it is hard to do what Cal makes look easy every year.

They have the talent to definitely be a sleeper. If they knock off a couple games they get tougher, refs will want to protect Simmons. They have several quality players.
