can they get to the final four?

i think espn covers them too much, but they do have a dangerous team on top of simmons. agree disagree?

No,because they don't play smart basketball.ESPN does hype them because of Simmons but they(LSU) play down to their opponents level they let average teams stay too close,it will cost them in tourney play. They are a team that is easy to dislike,a neutral crowd will get behind whoever they are playing.

Their coach is still that idiot jones. How quick everyone forgets how big a plunder that NC St game was last year. Had them dead to rights and they came back and beat them. They are no more than a first round team with final 4 talent because of that idiot.

Texas was the same way the year they had Durant, can't blame the media for wanting to drawing attention to a team that has a player like Simmons. Kid is the most obvious # 1 pick I've seen since LeBron. Note: That Durant led Texas team got bounced in the 1st round.

LSU is like a lot of teams, very tough at home but can be beaten by anybody on a neutral floor, that's the difference between good teams and tournament teams. I don't think they could get to the final four.

Yes LSU can make final four if they get in. They have everything you need. A star player can absolutely take you to Houston. Much better team with Victor & Hornsby both playing.

LSU has lots of talent. Quarterman, Hornsby and Victor are very good players to go along with Simmons. Since they have been full strength they have been very good.

lots of talent???? hornsby is solid, victor and quarterman are streaky, blakeney is coming on but still just a fresh. simmons is simmons. i like the starting 5...the bench doesnt do anything for me. gray doesnt value the ball, robinson and bridgewater just give minutes, patterson can knockdown threes on occasion, and epps may make a play or two on offensive end. LSU seems to be getting things going in the right direction since the starting 5 has gotten to play together.

Texas won one game that year in the tournament.

This year is the kind of year when a team that barely gets in, like LSU, might have what it takes to put together a run. The question is not "will" LSU make the final four, but "can" they. And this year, the answer is "yes, of course they can." Not likely, but they have the ingredients.

The only reason I'm skeptical...

The way this year has went, the tourney should be pretty wild. LSU or a team like them in the FF would not surprise me.
I can't imagine how anyone will be able to have a clean bracket this year.

Thought they were tougher last year and how did that work out? I picked them to win some games last year and they (JJ) let me down.

Johnny Jones will find some way to screw them up. Wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see them get bounced in the first round.

Might depend on how much the NCAA wants to protect Simmons during the tourney so they have the player of the year candidate to hype. Officiating could make a huge difference. Wouldn't be surprised to see Simmons (LSU) and Hield (OK) get paired up in the elite 8 or final 4. And yes...I do think the NCAA can control some outcomes via matchups and officiating.

Blakeny says hi.
The thing you don't understand about LSU is they do have good talent, it's good for THIS year. Wouldn't have been good enough last year but there are plenty of good teams that will get high seeds (Xavier, Nova, Iowa State etc) that LSU could beat on a neutral court.
However, I don't trust them at all. That game against NC State last year was typical for Jones.
I look at players like Quaterman, Victor and Hornsby and nk they should be so much better. They are streaky (your words) for a reason, they aren't being developed like they should. Those guys are veterans with size, athleticism and skill but their coaches don't push them.
There are some on this board that defend JJ by saying he doesn't have talent. I say BS.

No - they have the biggest idiot in the sport as a head coach.

He had #1 beat and decided not to give the most talented player in America the ball up 10 with 5 to go.

Your handle and knowledge of their team tells me different.

check out my history on the board. more of a football fan than basketball. hence, my avatar. as far as jones not having simmons get the ball in the last few minutes...cant argue. he/they blew it...no way around it. ive said myself jones isnt great, just dont think he is as bad as some believe.

Double Simmons in the post and if Blakeney or Hornsby are cold they're done.

Plus you have Johnny Jones who's an expert at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Go back to the football board. TIA
