I would be livid that Manning didn’t start and play the 2nd half.
Yes, and I thought going for it on fourth down from Ohio State's 40 on the first drive was a bad idea. Analytics aside, I would not have risked putting Ohio State on a short field that early in the game. And if I am on the one, first down and goal, I run it at least three times up the middle. A tush push on Ewers a couple of times should have gotten it done. Why? Ewers wasn't the reason they didn't win. A stupid TD at the end of the first half and not scoring from the one is why they lost.

If Arch’s last name wasn’t Manning, we wouldn’t be having this conversation. Why does everyone think Manning is so much better? He played sparingly this year. Sark knows QBs and he's seen both these guys all year long. You don't think he wants to win a championship? He's consciously playing a worse QB in the biggest game of the season? This is 'backup QB syndrome' taken to an absurdity. Sark played the QB he thought was better. Period. It wasn't Ewers who called a couple of horrible plays in the red zone. It wasn't him who whiffed on a block that resulted in the strip sacks TD. I don't think Ewers is a great QB by any means. Put him on an average team and no one would've ever heard his name. But suggesting that the HC purposely played an inferior QB in the semifinal game is ludicrous.
Indiana had Michigan on their schedule, the defending champ who beat Ohio State and Bama. In fact, Indiana played ND tougher than Georgia did. They lost two games, both of them are in the national championship game. To dunk on them is dumb especially now.The scheduling is what beat the SEC.
You see the Big 10 knows how to schedule. They make sure their best teams play at the end of the season. Hell Indiana didn't play anybody. They didn't play oregon or Penn State but went 10 and 1 in the Big 10. Scheduling.
That way they can rise up the rankings beating up on the inferior Big ten crap schools which is 3/4 of the league.
Meanwhile the SEC will play top 5-25 matchups in September, October, and November.
Some SEC teams will play eight ranked games when the Big 10 will play two or three or 4 like Indiana did.
Gave the game away when they had 1st and goal from the 1yd line and called one of the worst play calls that could be called. Why would ANY coach in that situation call a play where you toss the ball backwards 8 yards to the running back.Yes, and I thought going for it on fourth down from Ohio State's 40 on the first drive was a bad idea. A tush push on Ewers a couple of times should have gotten it done.
And that is a perfect example of when a head coach should step in.Gave the game away when they had 1st and goal from the 1yd line and called one of the worst play calls that could be called. Why would ANY coach in that situation call a play where you toss the ball backwards 8 yards to the running back.
UNBELIEVABLE!
As stated in other threads, I had Texas on a 2-1 money line bet, so you can just well imagine how much I just LOVED that call.Gave the game away when they had 1st and goal from the 1yd line and called one of the worst play calls that could be called. Why would ANY coach in that situation call a play where you toss the ball backwards 8 yards to the running back.

Exactly and Ewers did a decent job considering he was going against the #1 CF defenseWhy? Ewers wasn't the reason they didn't win. A stupid TD at the end of the first half and not scoring from the one is why they lost.
Against the OSU defense? They make mistakes happenMaybe Manning could get a pss over a linemen!!!!!!!
Who would have thought this QB kept making the same mistake over and over...
GBB
Indiana most certainly did NOT play ND tougher than Georgia did. They were absolutely dominated from start until the last two minutes when they scored two garbage touchdowns to make a 27-3 late 4th quarter score look more respectable.Indiana had Michigan on their schedule, the defending champ who beat Ohio State and Bama. In fact, Indiana played ND tougher than Georgia did. They lost two games, both of them are in the national championship game. To dunk on them is dumb especially now.
Also citing ranked games is dumb because all it takes is media overhyping the SEC and ranking them before the season and being like “OMG! They beat so many ranked teams.” 😂 Self fulfilling prophecy.
Texas didn’t beat anyone all year
Georgia’s best wins were beating those Texas teams
