If DJ Uiagalelei ends up in the portal is he a pass or a take next year?

Uh...if it's Sheron, Hogan or Wade...I'd take DJ in a heartbeat.

Now, if it's up to him or other unknown options in portal....harder call.

Hard pass. Just isn’t a good QB. Surrounded by Clemson talent, you should show a little more than he has in his career.

Having said that, I want a Bo Nix type QB transfer, just not DJ. Needs to be a veteran that’s seen some some shit, with a certain amount of success, as opposed to some 4 star that hasn’t seen the field. A QB that has played meaningful games and isn’t a stranger to the pressure that comes from those type of games. A bridge player to Wade, who I think in a couple years could really be our guy at QB.

If he can't score at clemson he probably won't here. but if it comes down to him and what we have on roster he has to be a take.
Right now it’s been him or the kid from boise state, i rather have DJ than the Boise state kid

Wade isn't the guy unless we change the type of offense we run.

Yeah you take DJ as he’s better than what we have and there’s a good QB in there. Plus his brother is a 5* DE and might join him.

Cade McNamara from Michigan is the guy I am keeping an eye on. If he hits the transfer portal, I hope Stoops pulls out all the stops to bring him to Lexington.

Whether it’s via the portal or good ole fashioned trail, stoops better prioritize a kicker and punter.

After that it’s o line.

Skill positions will be good enough to carry one of the QBs on roster already.

DJ plays in one of the most wide-open, QB-friendly offenses in college football. If he can’t make it in that offense, he aint gonna cut it in Scangarello’s offense. Pass.

Idk I thought Sheron showed good pocket presence against SC. The coaches just didn't give him many opportunities to make throws, especially down field. He looked to me like someone who could become a good QB eventually. Seems to have some tools and you can't teach pocket presence. Be interesting to see who our OC is and what Stoops plan is for QB1 next year.

If I were an offensive player and had my pick of schools, even as a diehard UK fan, I would not play offense for Mark Stoops. It's always a slugfest and you won't get to showcase your skills. Put Levis in a better, more organized, more uptempo offense and allowed him to use his legs when he was healthy and you're looking at an All-American. Instead, we have highlighted his weaknesses. Doesn't matter who the OC is, Stoops is still in charge of that side of the ball and it will always be a struggle.

Needs a dedicated special teams coach. This experiment with random assistants coaching special teams has been a failure.

I've never been impressed with the kid on the field. Like Spencer Rattler, the talent doesn't match the hype.

I think the kid is a pretty decent guy, the dad has visions of having a couple kids in the NFL and a huge helicopter dad. Right now he is trying to get the best deal for son number 2, a highly rated DL and letting DJ hang.

But on the field he just doesn't respond very well to pressure, if he gets beat out and called Kirby asking to come I hope Kirby would tell him no. He just seems to panic and Dabo will throw him under the bus.

The games I saw Bachmeier he was very good. Has a high IQ something that Levis lacks
Yeah, same. Big, strong kid with a live arm. If the reports about Wade developing well are true, then just getting a stopgap starter for 2023 is the answer. Wade can be backup, get a few series. Then be handed the keys for 2024.
