He's nothing like Butler which is what we need.
He would be a great fit at Florida where they're losing all their perimeter offense.
Hubbard is a great scorer but not much of a distributor or defender.

We need 4 things at least. A guaranteed scorer to go with Oweh, a shooter like Brea, and a starting level front court option that is versatile like Carr, and preferably a big rebounder and shot blocker. It would be nice if Amari had another year. He’s about as perfect of a big as we can have for our system.

Alabama have a ton of solid guards and wings and they are unguardable in offence.
These positions are important and it seems that these positions are easier to be badly hurted...

Just keep grabbing those Perry and Noah type freshmen with those 14th and 15th scholarships and let them develop for a year or 2.

Pope showed that he is an expert at constructing a roster to fit the needs of his system. What he did in such a short amount of time after getting hired by Kentucky was amazing. Also some of the guys he brought in were some that were completely under the radar yet his analytics showed that they were just what Kentucky needed. I have confidence that Pope will get the best possible fits. I'm so glad we have a coach that brings players in that make up a TEAM rather than individual talent that doesn't blend in well with each other. Also, he seems to develop players throughout the season in that you see improvement in their play.

Pope put together a sweet 16 caliber team in about 6 weeks. I trust him to get it done in the portal.
I'm not sure how that would work out in the SEC with stronger, quicker players. If you could get him for about 100/200K a year might be worth the investment over time.

I think he will definitely transfer to a bigger platform after this season. If he actually transfers, I think he should be our top option.

Somebody may have already pointed this out, but Lendeborg is a Senior. My understanding is that he is not eligible next season under the current rules. If this is wrong, somebody please let me know - as I'm interested in how the rule works next season. For example, would a Senior still be able to be a 5th year graduate transfer?
Good point. But the way Pope has played this season and before when he has a healthy roster is to play 10 guys a lot of minutes - almost a platoon type situation. This should be easier to recruit depth to than most programs. I also agree that if you want to get to 15 scholarship players some top in state players would most probably be the best chance to accomplish that with pretty good skilled players.
He was JUCO for 2 years. Lawsuit was won by a football player saying JUCO don't count toward NCAA eligibility.

If Blake Harper were to enter the transfer porta,l what would be the reason he would choose us? If Oweh returns why would the kid want to split time with an established starter? Also how would we know we could outbid other schools who would be looking for a starter. Keep in mind, today's transfer kids transfer for two reasons, 1. Wants more playing time on a bigger stage, 2. wants more money. A bidding war will NEVER guarantee we will or could get the kid. NIL has completely leveled the playing field for every school's basketball program. Deep pockets will always beat the name on the front of the jersey. Sad but true.
Your 4 things we need are correct but we need to also add quickness to our roster to improve our defense. Defense or lack of high level defense is our Achilles heel. Not having an elite defense is what will nd our season when we are matched against an elite offensive team in the NCAAT. I know some will blast me for not predicting us (KY) winning it all.
PG - Portal/Perry/Lewis
2G - Chandler/Jasper/Portal 2G/SF (possible) - a 3-&-D guy.
SF - Oweh/Noah
PF - Portal/Portal or Walker (KY – H.S.) (would require a decommit from SC) or Ament (VA - H.S.) - don’t care which, as long as we get a top portal PF.
C - Garrison/Moreno/Najai Hines (NJ – H.S.) (my personal campaign target) – all 3 can likely play a non-stretch PF too.

Yeah, it was real hard selling Almomor, Garrison (a 5 star kid), Brea, and Kriisa. A lot kids just want the step up in competition, play at a powerhouse program (see Almonor and Brea) 3 of those guys I mentioned WAS starters before coming here (and Brea played starter minutes). As far as Chandler goes, I listed him as playing both 2G / SF, but what is he now ? End of the bench depth. Only reason he got the uptick in minutes is because there was no one else. There is NO such thing as 4th string, that would be 20 players on a team. Which by the way, I never said concrete # of portal signed. I said 4/5. Roster limits go up next year, and it is not a given Kriisa (which is why I said "HOPEFULLY") comes back.
You sure did take it upon yourself to put a lot of stuff I didn't post in your post. Factor in we may lose a player or two to the portal. If Chandler wants more playing time, maybe he needs to earn it or beat out someone next year to get it. If not, guess he can look elsewhere, nothing really lost but POTENTIAL. There are NO roles or depth charts assigned until after spring, if Chandler leaves before it is even determined his role, maybe he would have seen he is not good enough to hack it at UK and EARN major minutes. I doubt that though, he seems like a competitor and has confidence in his abilities.

Oh, and by the way know it all, I am sure you know this, but the roster limits go to 15 next year. And you can bet your sweet ass Pope will use every spot (you are wrong about that also) he can to make the team better, add future depth (multi year guys / projects), and help in case injuries was to occur (probably not, it never happens at UK, LOL). He had a max roster THIS year, and after all of the injuries he has seen, why wouldn't he next year ? You do know Cal is not coaching here anymore, right ? How many portal guys did we sign last year ???? You should know, now factor in returning players (6 max if we don't lose anyone), 25 class signed (3), that is accounting for 9 spots max. That leaves 6 IF no roster attrition. SIX.

I wouldn't say he can't shoot. 49% on 2FG and 34% 3FG Robinson shoots 43% and 37%. He plays the 2G spot this year, give me all of the Oweh's you can give me. Can't dribble, can't shoot, but still the best SCORER and penetrator on the team.
You had Kriisa listed so I counted him that's where I got 16.
We'll have to wait until June but I still bet Pope won't have 15 on scholarship unless he decides to take a KY HS player.
He used 12 of his available 13 for 24-25.
Pope could sell that all spots were open since he was left with no one returning.
That won't be the case this portal cycle.
The players Pope goes after to start( prob PG and PF) will be paid accordingly.
You have to factor in the money in today's game.
This coming years freshman class will be paid at least double what Perry, Noah, and Chandler got.
It is a hard sell to a portal player you can't guarantee minutes to and you try to get at a bargain because all your NIL money is wrapped up by the top half of your roster.
