If Blake Harper transfers, he will be one of the best options for guard/wing, 18 pts 6reb per game 40% 3pt with three years remaining eligibility

Howard university guard/wing, 6-5 at least, 200-210 pounds

19.5 PTS
6.4 REB
3.5 AST
45.6 fg 40.2 3p 81.2 ft

Three years eligibility remaining. Had 16 pts against Kansas and 23 pts against Cincinnati.

I think he will definitely transfer to a bigger platform after this season. If he actually transfers, I think he should be our top option.

Bruce Thornton and dent would be my first options still. Along with the UAB kid
This guy is not pg, just sg/sf, fit in jaxson Robinson or kobe brea role

He will be good multi-year player for us if he comes here. Could be a little taller Oweh with better shooting. I want this player. He also could dribble from highlights

That 34 point game was pretty efficient stats wise. 7-15 fg and 20-22 ft.
This guy is crazy, how is he not in NBA talk, only because he is not playing in big league or famous schools?

He is already a top level mid-major league player now in his freshman year...

with the loss of Robinson & Brea, UK will need plenty of scorers. Bring them on
They got one in jasper. I view as this. Get a PG to replace butler, jasper replaces the Robinson role(scoring wise), get a hybrid wing, the UAB guy would be perfect for this, a shooter for the brea role and another Center and Kentucky will be in a good spot

UAB guy will be starting PF if he comes here, but I think UAB guy will definitely test draft water and could put his names into draft with good workouts

Grab this guy as sf/sg (he can also shoot), pure shooters like kellan grady/kobe brea are good but I think this guy will work better in Physical SEC. (Assuming oweh returns, we still need to get one more good wing player)

Grab a starter PG

Grab a frontcourt bench

Transfer recruiting is so weird because you’re just looking out at the entire landscape of college basketball wondering if a guy will be available and if he would be interested in your school. I would hate to be a mid major coach these days, you’re practically rooting for your players to be good but not TOO good

Need a veteran to replace Robinson rather than solely relying on a freshman. We have learned that in the past. JJ is a great player, but he may take time to adjust to the college game. Be nice to have veteran talent to surround him with.

If this guy comes, I think rotation for sf/sg will be oweh/Jasper/this guy, similar with this season (Oweh/Jaxson/Brea).

I think we need a starter pg

Another solid sf/sg

A starter PF/C

A backup frontcourt player

UAB guy ? I mean if you don't even know his name, how do you know if he can come here or even wants to come here and fill the void of players leaving ???? "UAB guy will be starting PF" and we don't even know who will be on the roster ? I know you stated "if he comes here", but you have him penciled in as if it had already done. Long ways to go until next years roster is solidified, maybe hold off on naming starters, especially ones labeled "UAB guy". Just my opinion though.

We have to be deep into the pre-portal analysis.

I'm really excited to see what comes out of this recruiting cycle.

I gave his name so no need for the little shot. Before you take shots read the whole thread, but that’s just my opinion though.

PG - Portal / Kriisa (hopefully) / Lewis
2G - Oweh / Jasper / Perry / Chandler
SF - Portal / Noah / Portal for depth
PF (Stretch 4) - Hopefully Ament / Portal / Portal (Need a Almonor and Carr like addition from the portal)
C- Garrison / Portal / Moreno

Need portal signings for starting PG/SF/PF. Also SF/PF for depth.

So need at least 5 portal signings, 3 starters (PG /SF/ PF), 3 high production / quality players (Like Robinson, Carr, and Butler this year) and 3 for quality depth at SF/PF positions (Almonor, Brea, and Garrison type players from this year.)
Replace starters Butler / Robinson / Carr, depth replacing Almonor and Brea (though a little more versatile and defender than Brea). Signed 9 from the portal this year, will only need 5/6 depending on signing PF from HS ranks (Ament) or so this year. In addition, really need to sign a HS PF, which is why Ament is so important. Finding 3 PF / Stretch 4s in the portal will be tough to do.
1 PG / 2 SF / 3 PF or Stretch 4. Perry, Chandler, and Noah can help out a bit moving up a position (Perry as a PG), but I do not feel comfortable depending on Chandler and Noah for the quality of depth we need. Not to mention Perry and Chandler are best suiting at 2G and Noah at SF. All 3 players can provide depth and flexability, but we will need some proven producers at the 3/4 spots on the floor.

Also, I did not call you out for UAB guy, I called out chasingwildcat, so I did not take a shot at YOU and I have read the WHOLE thread. Maybe YOU should read the thread closer as I didn't call you out. LOL, I even quoted his post so how you got I called you out must have been lack of attention on your part, but you tell me to read ???

This is definitely something that should be on the recruiting board. He's not even announced he's transferring.

We're in the middle of our season and play #1 tomorrow.

Chasingwildcat didn’t start talking about the UAB player I did. My apologies if I’m wrong, I will own up. And I’ll say his name again. It’s yaxel lendenborg

For those of you who haven't seen the "UAB guy" yet.

As for Harper, he looks really good. But as someone else said, it's so difficult because we can pick 50 players we'd love to have from the the NCAA landscape but until they're actually transferring it's a moot point. Hard not to get hopes up.

Since we are talking potential portal adds, what about the Dynes kid that plays at Youngstown St. and is from Independence, KY? I think he has two seasons left. He’s 7’2 and top 5 in blocks in D-1 with over 3 a game. Doesn’t score much, but could be worth a scholarship to develop if he wants to come home. You can’t teach 7 feet.

You've got 16 spots here.
I can guarantee you Chandler won't be back in a 4th string role.
We probably only fill 13 scholly spots unless Pope takes an under the radar HS player like Noah.
Extremely hard sell to a portal guy unless he's a starter.
You also have to look at the fact that UK has given Premium NIL deals to all three recruits(Ament too if he came).
Oweh and Garrison will probably get a bump.
We don't have unlimited money so I predict that the bulk of our remaining NIL will go to a starting PG and a starting PF.
Who knows how Pope will see it though.

The recruiting board is dead for the most part.
Hasn't really been used in years.

Relax pards. Geez.

It will be interesting to see how teams fill 15 scholarship players on their roster. Most portal players aren’t coming to sit so what kind of quality will we be getting? A couple more 3 star kids from Kentucky who won’t mind to wait?

If oweh comes back it would be a mute point, which I think oweh is back
I problem had a probably with this statement. Was going to tell you that it should be spelled MOOT point, but then I thought that maybe you meant a silent point - one that no one is talking about. :)
