My father started with IBM in the 1950's and back then IBM, no shit, had a SONG BOOK that all employees had to take to meetings/conventions with them so they could sing along. My former director worked at IBM Lex during the 1960s. Said he loved it there. He ended up out here at Austin facility and retired a few years later.

Told all kinds of crazy stories about the Watsons. Heh, I can believe it.

Yeah, Austin got a massive influx from Lexington back then. Just as Lexington got a huge influx of IBM'ers from Poughkeepsie, NY in the 50's/early 60's

A bunch of kids in my age range that grew up in Lexington were born in Poughkeepsie.

My Dad was offered a chance to move to Austin when I was 5 or 6 but declined. Thanks DAD... 🙄

My Dad is Big Blue thru and thru. Most people from that era were. I mean, cultish oddities aside, it was the best company in the world to work for at the time.
