when we got down big in the 2nd half, only to wake up and surprised we won. I hate seeing us lose. I missed a great finish.

“Down Big?” Oklahoma’s biggest lead of five points — with more than nine minutes to go — lasted one possession, and about 20 seconds of game time.

You must have timed your surrender perfectly. Well done.

It's not that we "give up too easy." It's that it is SO PAINFUL for us to see the 'Cats lose that we just turn the game off rather than expose ourselves to the possibility of that painful experience. At least, that's the way I feel about it. But the honest truth is ... after I turn the TV off, I'll pull up the ongoing report about the game on the ESPN website (which is great, by the way, for following a game). Last night, I followed the play-by-play on ESPN until the OK kid made the free throw to put them up 1 with 0:20 left. I turned to a different website for a couple of minutes and then went back to the ESPN website and was elated to see that the 'Cats won !
When you get old, you'll understand.
Go 'Cats ! ! !

Grats to BBN I have much rather have a 1 point road W than a 1 point L.
On the road in the SEC if tuff you got to beat them and the refs! Well most of the time.
OU was pretty much playing for the tourney birth and has been playing good ball lately at home.

I was scratching my head thinking maybe I fell asleep for part of the game and didn’t know it. I don’t remember us being down big.

Kentucky basketball is pretty much back to being exciting again. Very much unlike the past 5 years or so under Cal. It's not good to give up any longer early in a game. Cal ruined many of us to not be excited about our team like in the past. New coach in charge and I like the change so far. Don't give up on him and his team so early.

You know what though? Good for you. The OP did it right. I'm looking through his history. What I don't see is a post or some even need to start a thread thread where they announces their departure. "That's it. I've seen enough. We're going to lose. I'm going to bed". You kept it to yourself. Thank you

Couple of those cowardly messages pop up during close games and it's infuriating. Some people are social misfits and don't realize, you're making everyone's experience worse. Bad enough we are losing, don't need some panicky baby who can't keep it inside. We all have doubt. But be a man and keep those emotions to yourself in the moment

“Stress can also cause or worsen some of the symptoms of narcolepsy, including insomnia, sleep paralysis, and excessive daytime sleepiness.”

Maybe this? Only valid excuse I can think of.

Yeah, I was going to say that the game thread is not for the weak of heart but when we get down it sure feels like it is almost exclusively for the weak of heart.

Game threads bring out those folks in spades. Some of our fans seem to just live for moments like that. Always there to pile on but nowhere to be found when the good times are rolling.

I'm not young (I turn 61 tomorrow), but I just can't go to bed while the Cats are playing. Even if they're losing, I will stay up and watch until the end; I've seen too many things over the years that will not let me stop watching. I live in PA, so I'm on EST time; got to bed between 11:00 and 12:00 and had to get up at 5:00 to get ready for work. My wife always thinks I'm crazy and I was certainly tired yesterday, but all I can say is that I bleed blue. I've been a Cats fan all of my life and I "have" to watch. My wife is from New York and she just has never been able to understand my passion with the Cats!

GO BIG BLUE!!!

It was frustrating at times and it was a late game. But i was surprised how many people claimed they were turning it off and going to bed in the game thread. Never once felt like we were out of it.

I actually made a few posts that the foul count was surprisingly going in our favor in the 2nd half and that was really going to help us. And it did. Godwin fouled out, we shot 7 more free throws (mostly in the 2nd half) and that actually might have been our biggest FT margin in our favor in SEC play.

Its not the end of world that a guy misses the end of a 9 pm game that goes on to 11;15 - 11;20 . There have been times where the the previous night or 2 I've not gotten any sleep and game night late is tough on a person whose schedule is bed at 10-1030-45 . . Prob best to just keep it quiet so dipshits dont judge your fandom. The board is full of judgmental horses asses.

People make some insane comments in the game thread .. its real time , its emotional , every pass/play/set/missed shot is examined and dissected. Every coaches move , every substitution , and it just gets messy . Especially if things are going not going our way , which happens in spurts every game. BUT , but whats super irritating is for folks that dont post in the game thread to pull up commentsd made " imn the heart of the battle" so to speak and try to embarrass or mock or judge a fan's fandom based on game threads .. ok rant/ thread hijack over

These late games suck. I crashed at 830 last night due to being up til almost 11 central Wednesday. I'm dealing with a lot of chaos at work and wife has health issues so I'm always tired from running around.

Staying up to see OO hit that shot and then the block are what keeps me getting up every day despite the chaos of life.

I get why some that have work early or just can't deal with anxiety go to bed though. No judgements there.

I've made some game-thread posts that were harsh, and maybe rash in nature. Like when Jrob was struggling, I was really laying into him in one game, and said he needs to be benched. I don't necessarily disagree with my take now.. but I also probably should have realized that he's still new to UK, Pope and his team..

Yeah we shouldn't really pick apart the game threads after the fact, that's not fair. I'm pretty sure I've used the phrase "Omg im so erect" after big plays and I wouldn't want that to resurface.. wait, shit. I mean..

Can you imagine if all the people from the game threads were in a room together in person watching during the game?

Happy birthday! I ordered you a big win to celebrate you turning 61. Hope it arrives in time.
