I won't share my secrets but I was in the Tulane football offices today...if he comes home, I might deserve some of the credit

Very cool! I see Kentucky written all over that dude. I think he is ready to come back. Especially after our down year and kind of down state of the program. I think he would look at it as an awesome challenge to revive Kentucky football. He would be what Mark Pope is to Kentucky basketball right now, passion, energy, character. Just need Mitch and or Stoops to take that first step obviously. I sure hope at the very least the back channels are talking, even if Mitch/Stoops want to wait till end of year to have state of program assessment sit down.

The thing of it is, if a change were to happen and he comes home. Barring a catastrophic mass exodus, he has a pretty solid foundation to work with. This wouldn’t be like Stoops taking over after Joker. We’ve just gotten stale and complacent, the issues this year lay solely on the coaches, the talent is on the roster to be better than we’ve shown.

Strangely, I had thought if I found myself near the Big Easy, I would stop by to shake hands.

Good job.

Seriously, Cat fans staying in touch is not a bad idea, so long as it is done as you did . . . stopping by the office on a chance Sumrall is in, and leaving a small congratulatory note if not.

He was super cool. I was actually touring the Tulane athletic facilities with one of their Associate AD’s and he said we would take a walk through the football office, so I knew I had to take my shot.

He walked right out of his office and I was walking by, so, I just said, “Hey Coach, Go Big Blue”. He laughed, smiled and said, “oh yeah, you’re a Kentucky guy huh”. Just replied back that I was, also a huge fan of his and his success and hope to see him in blue and white some day. We took a picture, he shook my hand, thanked me and my work was done.
