I was done with Levi's when he didn't play in the bowl game

1. I wished Will played in Music City....but that season was considered a poor season and it was Iowa again.
2. WIll proved his dedication by playing thru toe injury. To come back and play UGA game in ice cold conditions showed me a ton of the kids going to fight when it's not easy.
3. Ar15 didn't play in his bowl game.....didn't seem to matter on his part.

I completely understand and agree with Levis not playing in the bowl game. He deserved the right to heal. The others that sat out had no excuse.
Yes, Levis lead us to a NYE Bowl win. He had nothing to gain by playing in the MCB. Who was the Ole Miss QB who got hurt in the Sugar Bowl and slid a few rounds? Lawrence McGahee blew his knee out in his last game at Miami and ruined his future. I don't blame Levis for sitting. I am pissed at Stoops for not having a backup ready to go for the MCB, but I believe that issue has now been rectified.

I wonder how the. NFL looks at that. Very selfish. I wish him no ill will but I'll never root for him
It's very common for players to sit out for bowl games.

Please do research before slamming him for doing it.

He's not the first football player to do so and he won't be the last. It was his decision, not yours.

Lord, this board is full of cry babies...

Imagine being so freaking stupid as to proclaim your ignorance on guys dumping out of bowl games for a damn decade now....and the NFL has loudly said they don't care

Hey genius, Ja'Marr Chase bowed out of an ENTIRE SEASON!!! if only the Bengals were as intelligent as you to avoid such a SELFISH guy!!!!!

The bowl was barely worth watching much less worth playing in.

Im only using this post to make a related comment and not to critize your take, but personally I am already shifting into the mindset that these will be spring games essentially. With the new playoff system and kentucky actually being decent now, everything should be focused on trying to make playoff runs. I'm sure we will play in many more bowl games but if we wind up using them mostly to break in new players and give send-offs to our seniors who might not be drafted, I'm all for it.

I have been very shocked by the vitriol for last years bowl game because I think I was already in that mindset. I was glad to see the D playing well despite missing some players and wanted to see what some of the new people on offense could offer us (apparently not much). With the two pick 6s mentally discounted, I though we played fine, proved our talent level had improved and made the case for a top level QB transfer to know he'd be needed immediately. A win in my book.

Yeah Willis McGahee was playing for the national title. No way he was missing that game. Sometimes injuries happen.

I dont blame levis at all for not playing in a who cares bowl game though.

We broke records in that game. Lowest over/under in bowl game history. The sad thing is that there were 2 defensive touchdowns and it still wasn't over.

Best tickets I ever had for a game though. I will say that. They were cheap.

In general, I'd agree with you but that bowl specifically was a team that fired their OC after a disappointing season limping into another MCB against a redo opponent who had one of the worst offenses of all time missing their starting QB. Our offense wasn't much better even with our normal roster. It wasn't even some defensive battle it was just two putrid offenses with one getting blanked. In the end I don't blame any player for sitting it out or any fan that skipped it. But for anyone that loves watching win or lose, I can appreciate that perspective as well. I do agree the bowl games even that one are still of value for the team and coach.

The kid was banged up. The regular season over and all that's left is a meaningless bowl game. You have about 2 months before you start trying out for life changing career and life changing money. You choose to look to your future and only a moron would otherwise. Finally does anyone who saw this kid play here for 2 years, believe he would have sat out if it was a playoff type game?

I'm guessing your take would be different about playing in a meaningless bowl game if you were the one considered a potential 1st round pick.
It is funny how many people are supporting Levis' decision now. Less than 5 months ago I said that anyone that advised him to play the bowl game was wrong, I I got berated for that take. Now everyone understands. An injured player that has a chance to get drafted early should not play in a low tier bowl. I get the whole pride for your University thing, but these kids have a very few years to make all of the money they can. Go make it and be good people. I would never advise my child that was going to be drafted high but had dealt with an injury to play in a bowl game that didn't matter.

So it’s okay for you to be selfish about Levis and his health when you have nothing riding in it. But when he’s selfish with millions on the line, you’re done with him. Interesting take, stupidand hypocritical, but interesting.
