Not at all VH. If we go 6-6 next year and avoid blowouts that does represent continued improvement. The G and D'ers never have reason to find optimism about anything related to UK football because nothing has changed in their lifetimes for more than a couple year period. If we did go 8-4 next year, they think it will be a fluke, or the SEC is down, or something else besides us getting better. They tend to ridicule the ones (aka sunshine pumpers?) that think we will be better next year as if the past is a guaranteed predictor of the future. Instead of believing we were a couple of plays from being 7-5, they think we were a couple of plays from being 3-9. I'm not predicting 8 - 4 either but I think we will be more competitive in 2015.Originally posted by vhcat70:
My prediction is 6-6 +/- 1. I take you think that's G & D since you quoted me. So be it. Me, I think predicting an extra win over last season is optimistic & represents continued improvement.Originally posted by bigbluegrog:
Maybe, maybe not. But there is nothing wrong with excitement, hope and optimism in the middle of January and three weeks before NSD. Much rather have that than the gloom and doomers who do nothing but try to depress you 24/7.Originally posted by vhcat70:
This. 8-4+ is a pipe dream at this stage.Originally posted by MEMEBLUE:
I predict this time next year, the people predicting 8 wins will be making the same excuses, I have heard over the past 40 years.
My "maybe/maybe not" point was that we just don't know squat at this point so WHY NOT be optimistic until given a reason not to be. Next year we should have the best talent that we have had in a long time. To say we won't be better next year means that we must think Stoops and Co can't coach. That, or the rest of the teams we play have gotten better but not UK.
I know these are just predictions and everyone has their opinions. Mine is that I am just not willing to concede that we won't be better in 2015 season in mid-January.
