I think its fair to predict that UK rolls into Athens 5-0 and ranked in the top 20

Agree Grumpy. Franklin is/was trash. He was at Vandy at the right time. Coach Lea is a good guy. I wish him well - he caught UK at the right time last year and I'm glad it helped him. UK can never assume it is going to beat anyone - but our roster is much improved over the last decade and our coaching staff will match most teams now. It's the best the program has been in my adult lifetime - or over the last 50 plus year - lol!

Go Big Blue!

I agree with everything you said. Coach Lea is always going to be handicapped at Vandy and I hope he has some success and manages to get them to some bowls.

No doubt Stoops has improved UK's roster, likely more than anyone in conference the last 10 years. I am not sure how this no division thing is going to play out, I preferred to keep divisions,

I would think UF is the biggest roadblock of UK being 5-0. Reading the UF website they are expecting a big season, claiming 9-3 is their floor and a win over UK is a lock. I think they are closer to 3-9. They open with a preseason Top 10 team, Utah, who will likely be missing its QB and very good TE. A video of UF's practice is floating around with their new DC, the DL are all 75lb overweight with big bellies hanging over their belts, they going to wilt in the altitude of UTAH. But if the can pull off a win, they are going to be quite a bit better than I thought.

Now about coming in to Athens 5-0, of course UK can win, UK is good and very physical. But this is Kirby's best offensive team. Beck is bigger, better arm, quicker release, but his question marks are can he get into the right play pre snap and be as effective on 3rd down. It will be an upper class offense at every position, 5 receivers with 500+ yards and 3 backs who scored in NC game. Defense will be like the last few, deep, very fast, good tacklers will play lots of kids, near 30 on defensive rotarion.
Yea. I know I can be a homer but when Mertz was rumored to be coming here, I saw a lot of flaws in his game. He throws high a lot. You can get away with that in the BiG more than you can in the SEC...or I would think. The overall roster is down from even 3 years ago and they are pinning all their hopes on Mertz being that much better than the most overrated qb in SEC history.

Kentucky always makes Georgia work for it. Kirby always seems to want to “just get out alive” when we face Kentucky. That’s a testament to the product on the field and culture built by Stoops and staff. I actually have Kentucky as a massive trap game for us. We will be coming off an emotionally charged trip to Auburn and I wouldn’t be surprised to see them undefeated when we go down there. Don’t mean any disrespect by saying ‘trap’ either. More so a trap from the fans’ POV. Kirby’s well aware there’s plenty of talent to beat us in Lexington. Leary and those receivers should pop again under Coen. Defense is always solid.

Yea it's weird. Back in the Brooks days the one good team we seemed to show up and play really well was UGA. Brooks recruited Ga well and I assume that is why those guys played harder in that game, but it has seemed to carry over to the program as a whole. It's weird that UGA is clearly better than UTee but we have such a traumatic memory from that losing streak that we actually feel better about beating UGA than we do UTee most years. LOL.

Vandy won't be a loss. With the debacle last year and them actually being worse... That is a win as much as you can count a win.

Yea ok, I said if we don't play well it could be. I'm not predicting we lose to either vandy or florida in reality.

I am the guy thinking UF has a floor of 2-10 and a ceiling of 5-7. Don't have to convince me they will struggle this year. But I think the UK schedule is very back end heavy. And honestly if not 5-0 I would be surprised.

They weren't happy with Mertz committed because they wanted almost anyone else, but now he is the second coming of SOS.

Double H strikes again. In all honesty, Cats should be string on defense, maybe top 10 strong. Question marks abound around a retooled OLine that was statistically one of the nation's worst last year. It normally takes between a 3rd to half a season for a line to REALLY jell. Hopefully Leary is not out with injury by then. Certainly some exciting tools at receiver, and maybe one day the TE will be receivers instead of blockers. Some real intriguing possibilities at RB.
