It usually takes a full season. But mark pope showed us who he is as a coach. At halftime and in the second half he made adjustments that don’t really mesh with his reputation. I don’t think byu for instance won a game last year in the 70s. They played someone I think Houston close but from my recollection byu had to score 80-90 points to win. Was pope gonna go more offensive push pace and tell players to rip threes? I mean he is a young coach. Nope pope went to a more defensive strategy that yielded a much more balanced team in the second half. His coaching had shades of pitino in it as a matter of fact alot or Pitino. Signature win 3 games in he didn’t even flinch against duke yeah we are in good hands !!
