I hope we sit on that RB scholly.

I like Darrin Hall but I would rather use that scholly for a position of need and sign two top backs next year.

Hall IS a top back. Take him if you can get him.

Just for reference, minus the Stoops era, Hall would be the 3rd highest rated recruit to ever come to UK in the Rivals period.
Only Glenn Faulkner and Micah Johnson were ranked higher. He's a top 200 player in the country for christ's sake. We are recruiting well, but not well enough to turn away top 200 players.

I like our depth at the position and feel like we need to address other areas first. If we can get a kid that's better or projects better at a position of need then why take a RB just because he's highly rated when you already have quality depth?

So instead of finishing this class by addressing areas of weakness, we should add a RB just because he is highly rated? Makes sense.

And what areas of weakness do you see? What can be accomplished by refusing this RB, and instead, picking up 2 RB's next year?
We do have quite a few scholarships left, ya know.

Some of the teams that offered Hall included Wisconsin, Michigan St, Nebraska and Arkansas. About the size as Harris and runs a 4.6. A 4 star and South Carolina has two 3 star commits ranked a little lower. Hope we can flip him. One of the Dowels is a good runner also.

No....uk has 5 scholarship backs on this years team. If a top back wants to commit you take him. RBs, DBs, lineman....you can never have enough. Just look at the top teams and see what they have. Oregon has 11 backs. Alabama has 6. Just two examples....you take him if you can.

Refusing him? Last I checked he was committed to Pitt. Corner, Lb, Ol, DE all need more talent. RB is our most talented position.

Actually, Safety is probably our most talented position.
We have a linebacker transferring in, 3 more coming off of redshirt, at least 2 coming in, possibly 3, and the rest of the LB corps is returning. Wouldn't hurt to recruit one more good one, but it's not in danger of being barren.
We have plenty of CB's returning, and some coming off of RS. We may also pick up Lewis, and we have a pretty solid class of CB's coming in as well. Being that Stoops was a CB, and a CB coach before he became a Defensive Coordinator, and for the length of his career, coached of CB's, I'm not too concerned there.
We always recruit OL, so no argument there. That said, we have the best Center in the next class, and one of the best OT's in the next class committed to Kentucky. 3 O-linemen come off of redshirt, and we return a lot of our starting line.
DE, we have 3 defensive ends coming in on this class, we have 2 coming off of redshirt from the last class, and one who played last year. DE is not a position that you recruit out of the wazoo. Could we probably get another one? Sure, as long as he shows a lot of promise.
While he is committed to Pitt, it's a soft verbal and he's figured to be on the brink of flipping. He takes up one scholly, and we have several left. I figure get him, get some promising O-linemen, and get some DT's if you find good ones. With whatever is left, use on either WR, or CB if you wanted to.
That's just how I look at it.

Think you always need to bring in at least one if not two RB's about every class. More competition the better, injuries and some just can't hack this level when they get here. So even though we have five RB's which ones can really produce consistently and what if the two best ones get hurt? Definitely think we need one or two more.

I would be very concerned about the concussions that Boom had. These were successive and I am afraid they could be considered chronic, I certainly hope not but these are scary. He can not play with these. Let's hope they are not something that becomes regular.
IMO

I'd never give away scholarships like it was gifts. If I couldn't land a good recruit then sit on it. If we can land a good RB then offer the kid. It's much better to offer a RB in every class than have 3 in one class.

As if you know what the 25 scholarships should be used on that don't include an RB.

Was that necessary?

IMO you take very good recruits regardless of the position they play. The exception being when you must hold SSs for positions of great need. Evidently a RB SS is available because one was being held for name that here forth I will not mention.

No Way! we only have five RBs. Clemons is still physically impaired. Boom has had concussions. We just a couple of injuries away from a really bad situation. This is the SEC. We NEED at least one more really good back. NOW.
