I have a concern and a question?

That was a great game by Oweh, and the drive and shot at the end was fantastic. However, the two turnovers immediately preceding that were mind boggling. The refs let some fouls go that should have been called.
Without Butler to handle the ball in those situations it was almost too much to overcome. We almost gave it away, and really did if not for the miracle at the end. What a game!

Carr was mugged on that one TO. There was absolutely no excuse to NOT blow the whistle. Especially with some of the other fouls they called.

Butler doesn’t dribble that much better especially with the shoulder
Oweh got fouled he also got sped up just stop & let them clobber you
He’s a really good clutch free throw shooter
The mind boggling thing was throwing it inbounds to Magic Williams he can’t shoot free throws

Yeah he was out of the game, got substituted back in, threw the ball away and was immediately subbed out to never return. My question is why was he even in there to begin with?

Well, to be fair, over the last 6 games prior to the SECT, he was 33/41 for just over 80%, including 10/12 last game against Mizzou, so he's been SO MUCH BETTER late in the season...just 1/4 last night though.

Carr can now. Not like Oweh though.

I would trust Brea.

Maybe Amari.

Depending on matchups, those are the guys I would trust as well.

Brea has been really good at times...especially now that he has seemed to become more aggressive driving into the lane for that floater or short jumper.

Honestly, last night I felt Pope should have exploited Carr's advantage in the paint a LOT more...especially through the middle of the second half when the offense wasn't flowing great allowing OU to hang around...

We have the guys to get the ball up the court without Butler. Amari doesn't need to be in the deep backcourt when we know a team is in heavy pressure. The F1 not called and the Amari bad pass turned the worm. But we do need fouls called when we get judy chopped.

Why would the OP say that? We have been in the top 7 at Kenpom in offensive efficiency the entire season. That can't happen unless you have several guys that can "get a bucket."
Nail, the OP, is well known for very entertaining and well-crafted sarcasm so I think he is mocking someone who made that comment. Not trying to blow smoke up the arse, but Nail is a great reference poster. Love his work.

Eh. That is/was valid concern. I saw many dreams of ten players scoring 9 points a game on here. Last night proved you need one stud. And there was little evidence we had one when at the beginning of the season. Most everyone thought Brea would start.

I rewatched but Carr got mugged, that would have been game if shot the FT he deserved. Otega made a bad pass, a nice pass there would have been a wide open layup for Noah. Just gotta clean that up. We played 32 minutes without Butler and were up 10 with 1:30 left. We have shown we can still play with anyone usually even without Butler. At least we are used to it.

Gotta be honest.........I still worry at some point Oweh will try to do too much in one of these situations and cost us lol. He tends to be out of control at times.

But we definitely have guys we can go to when we need a big bucket. We've proven that all season long too. Various guys at some points have knocked down big shots.

That's really the beauty of this team...yes, Otega has become the guy more often than not. However, Brea has been attacking the paint more, and Amari/Carr have definitely had moments when they were the ones carrying the team.

The problem was solved over the season. A player emerged that was willing to be the man.
