Big write up on KSR. Florida head coach Billy Napier goes on and on about how Florida played terrible, Richardson played terrible and how Florida could have played so much better, as they just didn’t come close to playing their best Football. Not once is he quoted that a lot of the credit should go to UK, as we were simply the better team. Gave no credit to UK whatever do ever for the UK defense making the Gators play poorly. Just a very poor sport in my opinion.

He is probably just trying to not lose his job before it really gets started.

Let him have a huge blind spot. I like him at uf. He made terrible decisions as hc. Jmo.

He knows we spend more time recruiting Florida than he'd ever dream of spending working Kentucky, and all for good reason. He's just spinning it best he can for Sunshine State recruits. Transparent. What's he gonna say... "Kentucky sure took it to us."? Given how tenuous their hold on real respect has become, he feels he can't. Oh, well. He doesn't need to explain what anyone who knows the game could see. We beat their ass. Ours is the clearly better team.

It was a questionable hire to begin with.
Losing to UK in the Swamp puts him immediately on the hot seat. He better get his shit together fast or they will run his ass out on a rail just like they did McClain and Darth Gator.

I noticed that too. I figured that’s not everything he said? If he truly didn’t give UK any credit than he isn’t making himself look any better.

Florida coach be like

I mean at the end of the day, who cares. I am secure enough in my fanhood and knowledge that we were the better team that I really don't need Napier's praise as a fan. I know the players don't, in fact, I hope we keep getting disrespected, they always play better. He's their coach, he lost, and he's building support and confidence around his team, I am not in anyway surprised by his comments

Not sure why so many UK fans have to bitch about the announcers or other coaches not telling the world how good we are. Seems petty. Just enjoy the win and go whip the next team. Too many of our fans would bitch if they were hung with a gold rope.
Your point doesn't make sense. Wouldn't ANYONE bitch about being hung, gold rope or not. A better example might be, bitch about taxes after winning the Powerball.

While he’s talking to the press it’s really just supporting the message to his team which is ‘we can control getting better’. Not sure why there would be a reason to care.

I think we should see stuff like that and be glad we have Stoops, honestly. We see a program like Florida, who has everything you need to have a dominant football program: massive fan base, huge home field advantage, historical success, and big time in-state talent, struggle with coaching hires.

I know some of that is a double-edged sword because a coach needs to produce there and fast, but we should really take stock.

I see some posters still saying he's not the guy to take us to the next level. Well if he ain't, there's a better chance that the next guy will drag us backwards than otherwise. I think he is, though. Look at the quality of Freshman He's brought in. The future is blindingly bright.

I'm fully aware that I might still be basking in the afterglow, but we have some real, legit star players in their first year of college ball on the roster.

That is why that expression exists. My sweet mother used to say it all of the time.

Wait. Aren't you here bitching about our fans bitching.....??????

What am I missing here???

Get off my lawn!!!

I mean he's talking to the media about his team. If your goal is to impose your will on the opponent and score more points then he's absolutely correct that his guys didn't play well enough to win. I wouldn't take that as an insult. We executed better than they did (except for long snaps). It's just football.

Why would he? He's new. He's trying to establish himself as the guy that is going to bring Florida back from "losing to teams like UK." He is also recruiting all the time. Why would he give us any credit for anything? To do so would be to legitimize us as a threat. That would not be a very good strategy, IMO. I would not give us credit for anything if I were him. He has a job to do and it isn't hyping us up. That's counterintuitive to his plans and if he gave us any bit of credit, he would not be doing his job correctly.

I listened to his post game interview with the Florida radio guy and he was very complimentary of UK. I have no clue what he said in his main press conference with the national media.

Got to admit I love the sling blade references. It's going to be fun having him at UF.

Why would you care what a coach thinks that’s going for it on 4th down with still plenty of time left in the game. Dude is incompetent if he actually thought that was a good play. Also shows you how much respect he has for UK. Just glad we whooped his @$$.

You've never noticed all the LV threads on here, have you? This is mild.

This is how I feel. Who needs the opponent's praise, I just want their respect. If they do not respect us before the game I want them to know who we are when we leave. The Gators know. I talked to their fans and they were all complimentary. Super nice. And expressed that respect.

A couple of drunk UK fans tried to start a fight but it didn't amount to much. They were too drunk to fight anyway and would have probably gone home with a broken nose. So all ended good. Florida sells beer and they may make more on beer sales than ticket sales.

Florida had a lot of quality high school visitors, some 5 stars and beating them has to help our recruiting. It was a great day with a super crowd. Love them or hate them but they sure were loud. And the noise never stops, it is constant from kickoff to the final gun.

And the end of the 3rd quarter and start of the 4th is very impressive. The entire crowd sings the Tom Petty (local boy) song "Don't Back Down" and shine the light of their cell phones to light up the stadium. It is impressive and I wish UK had something like that. Gators are very traditional.
