Kansas is now 40-20 in his two years —despite being Preseason #1 BOTH YEARS.

They just lost a game last night to unranked BYU by the same 34-point margin that Kentucky beat them in that 2014 slaughter at the Tip-Off Classic.

Some of us pointed out when Dickinson signed that he’d slow down their transition offense, become an occasional black hole in the paint restricting ball movement and that he was neither an elite rim protector nor an Oscar-type elite rebounder.

I suppose you can argue about how much of their mediocrity the past two seasons -- despite lofty forecasts -- is his fault. But he always struck me as an arrogant ass and I’m still happy he didn’t come to Kentucky.

As someone who hates what that program has become under Bill Self -- the cheating, the endless recruiting of thuggish women abusers, and so on —I’m glad Hunter found a home there.

He’s poison to a team. I said that last year and they were way more talented then. Their preseason ranking was laughable given what they lost off a mediocre team. Hunter’s a giant douche and his tears taste delicious. Oh, and Hunter… UK is STILL the winningest program of all time. Deal wit it bruh!

Good thing because of Cal’s underachieving and our injury problems they would have gained big time.

Never liked him as a player and he seems to have gotten more arrogant at Kansas. Sometimes it’s sickening to watch some of these personalities get the whistles they get.

By any measure they are having a very disappointing season. I think they have significant chemistry issues with this team. Combined with a more competitive conference they are very average. The cake walk days of the big 12 are hopefully over.
Yup

Houston, Arizona, BYU. Otzelberger has turned Iowa State into a contender.

A decade plus of the media slobbering over Big 12 regular season titles. Now they got some real competition and it's not so easy.

Those days have been over for a while. The Big 12 has been the best conference in basketball for a number of years now up until this year. I dont know where the myth that the conference has been weak comes from.

It’s something our fans came up with to try to explain away that crazy conference title winning streak they had. But, you’re right, it’s a narrative that never held up to actual factual scrutiny.

Take away with the basketball analysis which is correct and cut it down to personnel/portal decisions. Hunter Dickinson was/is one of the biggest narcissists in the sport. You bring in poison, don't be shocked when your team's season is sick/dies a painfully slow death. Michigan players celebrated his departure.

Kansas has a national media groupie club that blows them every offseason. They have bad fits on a team--Storr doesn't fit at all. Take gambles on guys who are selfish and then are shocked they are selfish. Griffen leaves a Final Four team where he had a role and at KU he's got to be a scattered player who waits for mediocre guards to not set him up for shots.

The one player I'd be interested in if he went into the Portal is Bidunga-he's what UK lacks/could use but is he willing to be a guy who accepts he's offensively challenged and needs to be a 3/4 yr CBB player? Will he work in the gym? You also have to realize he's closer to 6'7 then he is 6'10 but he plays hard and will rebound/defend.

Hunter is one of those players who do not make their team better overall.
