HUGE SERIES VS. OLE MISS

A lot of baseball left and UK sits at 4-5. Not horrible and the fact that UK is avoided getting swept even when they lose a series is a huge deal. The crazy thing is that UK is tied for 10th with Vandy (and technically Auburn, but Auburn would hold the tie breaker). After the 4-5, there are 4 teams that are 1-8 and one team that is 0-9. So, this year is a good bit different than many years as so far the league looks to be a bit less middle of the road and more top heavy. Kentucky right now is 7th in the league in batting average and 13th in ERA. Have to find more consistency in hitting moving forward. However, Ole Miss (next opponent) is 14th in ERA and 4th in batting average. So, we should see a competitive weekend one would think.

Weather looks terrible for this series. Hope they can find a way to get all 3 games in, you want to get all 15 league home games in for SEC play.

Thursday game postponed. Doubleheader scheduled for Friday starting at 3 PM. Both games are supposed to be 9 inning affairs.

Could someone explain what happened on Tyler Bells last at bat.? We were at the game and it was clear he got hit.

I attended both games yesterday. Surprisingly good weather during what has otherwise been a miserable weather weekend in Lexington.

-Game 1 was a doozy. We didn't have a ton of offense, but took advantage of Ole Miss pitching early to build a lead and then hung on.
-Burkes came through In the cluthc, and it was really cool to see. He bleeds blue, and deserves every one of these moments.
-Game 2 was a dud. Our offense has absolutely disappeared this weekend, and it's surprising b/c Ole Miss' staff isn't exactly known to be among the best in the SEC.
-Even with our anemic offense, we still had every chance to win the game. 1-1 going to the 9th and some great clutch pitching to get us to that point. But, we gave up a two run homer to a 9 hole hitter hitting .188. Not many balls were leaving the park with the wind last night, but he found the shortest part of the park and it stayed fair. Bummer, as a DH sweep was within our grasp.

We need to win this series if we want to make the NCAA tourney. Slim reaper on the mound today, so I like our chances if we can get this game in. Ole Miss has a lot of power, so our ballpark helps us as long as the win isn't blowing out. Just would like to see more guys get their bats going. At this point, Montoya, Hindle, Cameron, and Brown are giving us NOTHING at the plate. On the plus side, our pitching has been great this Weeknd and that's very encouraging to see after the start we have had.

Really really bad series loss especially with what may be the best two teams in the country coming up the next two weekends. Love Minge but some really questionable decisions in this one

Kind of getting tired our our dugout antics. When we lose it gets thrown back in our face and our guys just wilt. I’m afraid CMN thinks that is part of what got us to Omaha. Bunch of dudes who played hard and were sharp defensively is what got us there.

I retract part of my comments. Looks like there was some post game chirping back. Obviously need to show fight with our performance during the game.
