That's awesome! It's hard for most to get beyond the competition long enough to appreciate the talent and skill of the opponent. We usually just get cursing, bird flipping, and crotch grabbing. It's nice to see. And by the way, Sheppard spent a good amount of time complimenting Miss St and the atmosphere at the Hump in his postseason comments.

That was really great to see. Both seem like exceptional young men. It makes me sad to think about Reed leaving for the pros. I'm torn...Personally, I want him to stay because he is so good and he's a great young man. But I want to see him achieve his dreams (and leave Cal for his own good!). It's hard because a player like him doesn't come along very often (being a great player AND loving the University of Kentucky, the name on the front of his jersey and not just the name on the back)! Okay, I've moaned about it enough!!😪
Has Reed ever stated publicly and openly that his goal is to play in the NBA? I don't remember hearing anything like that from him but maybe he has said that before
Feel the same as you. When I was growing up watching the Cats, every player was like Reed. That may sound like an exaggeration to some younger folks, but you see, I’m not talking purely in terms of talent (though many were as good as him, and some even better). Im talking about the total love for UK and understanding of the fanbase, the tradition, the expectations, all of it. Our players used to embrace all that stuff and they truly played for the name on the front of the jersey. Reed’s dad certainly did, and now he does too. It makes me sad that nowadays a player like Reed only seems to come along once in a great while. Like so much else in the world, things just ain’t what they used to be.
Transfer to UK and a CJ Frederick type season. Because that's usually how our luck goes

How much money could Shep conceivably make next year with NIL?? Is there a cap? Seems like he could make a crazy amount and try for the number 1 pick in the draft the next year.
Well, there will be no advisor on planet earth that would tell Shep to stay another year to go #1 if he's already projected in the top 5 or even lottery. Not one person, and I guarantee not even his mom or dad would advise him to stay.

Quite frankly they should both agree to a few rematches next year. I think for Hubbard's sake we need at least two more games between them to make sure these UK wins weren't just flukes.

Yea he is. The story I heard was he was committed to Ole Miss until they fired Kermit Davis. He either didn’t like Beard or Beard didn’t like him, so he wound up at State.
I don't see him doing that, or his parents being happy if he did. Put your head, get to work and the rest will take care of itself.
No offense Dave but I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that he’s probably interested in playing in the NBA.
I like to think that the family legacy aspect, fan favorite aspect and the desire to leave his own legacy here could keep him around at least one more season. He will be able to name his price in NIL money. I don’t know if he could match a rookie NBA salary for a first round pick, but he could get damn close. Jeff is a financial advisor now, so he also has that going for him. He may become his Dad’s biggest client.

Sorry but all those dudes were talented and would have went regardless even if they were playing for Vanderbilt. But I would rather have a 1/3 of that list for more championships. I don’t care what these guys do in the NBA
