How would you rank the national champions since 2000?

Wrong, moron. Were Hansbrough and Green seniors in 07-08? Were Lawson, Ellington, and Green juniors? Was Ed Davis on the team?

No, no, and no. Therefore 08-09 UNC WAS NOT THE SAME TEAM as 07-08 UNC.

Good Lord, how tough of a concept is that to grasp?

Take it easy; he just started following college basketball five weeks ago, and it looks like he chose whoever was #1 at the time. He did some research on the internet; he likely never even watched that game in 2008 (I did; Kansas jumped out 40-12 in that game, and went on a 15-2 run to close it, or something like that; it was a five point game late). It's either this scenario, or he is showing willful ignorance. And before he tries to tell me that Villanova was the #1 overall seed, Kansas was #1 on March 1 when he joined. Kansas lost to TCU in the Big (Little) XII tournament.

How many Kentucky fans does it take to teach Kansas fans how the sport of Basketball works?

Lmfao.. Classic thread.

Duke 2010 is a tad underrated here.

They weren't a stupendous team, but they were definitely better than those mediocre UConn teams recently and Syracuse from 2003. I'd rate them as on par with Nova from last year.

Jay Williams, Shane Battier, Carlos Boozer, Mike Dunleavy Jr, Chris Duhon

That's a LOADED team

They lost 4 games. No argument on the talent level. They did win every game in the NCAA by 10+, while UK only won a couple by 8 each.

They were also down 22 to Maryland in the Final Four and despite roaring back UK in 2012 never got down by a ton to anyone.

Looking back, that 2015 season was stacked at the top. There were 4 teams that could have been the best in most years. UK, Wisconsin, and Arizona were all better than the average champion since 2000.

2012 Kentucky had easily the best combination of dominant regular season and dominant post season run. They only trailed for about 2 minutes the entire tournament. And that was in the beginning of the Baylor game.

That 05 UNC team was very special. And 07 Florida was really good. I still think the 05 is one of the best teams I ever saw. Taking off the blue tinted glasses though, 12 UK was not deep but our top 6 would hang or beat any of the last 17 champs. We had elite defense. Zone busters and lots of athletes. Really hard to pick against our team there. I think the msu team was tough with cleeves but they're one of the weaker champions Imo along with 10 duke and 11 uconn

We had a very good six players in 2012 and nothing else after that, really. Wiltjer could hit the occasional three.

2001 Duke had a lethal trio of Jay Williams (one of the best college bball players of the last 30 years), Carlos Boozer and sharpshooter Mike Dunleavy Jr.

That was a very good team as was 2005 UNC. In 2005, UNC and Illinois were clearly the two best teams that season and everyone else was kind of a distance third.

I go,
  1. 07 Florida
  2. 01 Duke
  3. 04 Uconn
  4. 12 Kentucky
  5. 09 UNC
  6. 02 Maryland
  7. 06 Florida
  8. 13 Louisville
  9. 08 Kansas
  10. 2000 Michigan state
  11. 05 UNC
  12. 03 Syracuse
  13. 16 Villanova
  14. 2015 Duke
  15. 2010 Duke
  16. 2011 Uconn
  17. 2014 Uconn

Tier One (any order)
2012 Kentucky
2009 UNC
2001 Duke
2008 Kansas (underrated)
2007 Florida
2002 Maryland

Tier Two
2005 UNC
2016 Villanova
2006 Florida
2013 Louisville
2004 UCONN
2015 Duke

Tier Three
2010 Duke
2000 Michigan State
2003 Syracuse
2011 UCONN
2014 UCONN
I don't see how you could have 07 florida that low, when there was no way that team was losing in that tournament and they were doing it for the second straight time.

Oh wow I didn't realize my list would dictate how the thread went lol. I literally done that list in 5 minutes without putting much though into it. That's the first order I could think of.

UNC's 2009 team was better than their 2005 team. Dominant tournament run. Duke 2001 might be the best team on the list. 2012 Kentucky might be, 2007 Florida might be.

Six very good players + Wiltjer was enough for 38-2 with two close losses and a very impressive 6-game tourney run. Plus the best player/defensive player in the country. Put Davis and MKG on the two best players for most any of these other title teams and I guarantee you they would have looked different.
