Good chance for the SEC to show meaningful strength tonight.

Auburn/UNC
Alabama/Houston

In other news:

Guess the CONNs will be playing in one of the consolation games.

Too early to tell. It is a long season. Let it play out and around mid-January we should have a more educated opinion.

Early season reviews has to be good for the SEC. Houston lost to Auburn, Iowa State, Duke losing to UK are the games right off the top of my head. So 3 top 10 teams losing to SEC. Keep it up SEC. I think we have had some lower level SEC lose as well but we are strong from top through middle of the SEC.

Apparently, the SEC and the Big 10+++ are equal. Loonardi's latest Bracketology has 11 teams in from each conference. But a quick check shows the SEC has 9 ranked teams while the Big 10+++ has... 3?

Amazing how the two top ranked conferences in basketball and football are getting all the attention and most supposedly teams in the tourney according to ESPN. Would seem like they are being pushed over other conferences for money.

I'm offering my opinion on the Mississippi State game.
The zebras can't help trying to control the outcome of these games.
Mississippi State had a couple really critically bad calls late in that game that could have changed the outcome. Damn shame.
The NCAA has to be more concerned about some of these calls.
I hope we can get a decent crew tonight.

Miss St only had 2 fouls with like 3 minutes to go.

The officials tried to help them as much as they could.

SEC was favored in only 6 of its 14 opening round games. My suspicion is if the SEC goes 6-8, there won’t be a lot of “that’s what they were supposed to do” but there will be a lot of “I told you they were overrated!”
