How many wins with this schedule....?

I think 5-7 is the most likely outcome. 7-5 or better would mean that stoops has his groove back.

Win three OOC, win in Nashville, and scratch out one other SEC win (Auburn? Ole Miss?).
I bet your in the ballpark with those estimates...I'd imagine the Oline will not be near as poor in 2025 and that alone will pull out a squeaker that we lost

I know this message board has turned into RR 2.0 with the doom-and-gloom, but, despite how miserable last year was, we still beat a really good SEC team on the road and damn-near beat UGA while also being close with UT. While I think 5 or 6 wins is most probable, it’s not like teams like UL or Vandy or UF are so far above us that we have no chance to pull one or two out.

No way to know how all the newcomers will perform. We've seen highly regarded OL from MAC-like levels do pretty well and get crushed at SEC level. Same on the defensive side. A lot of new faces on the O and no way to guess what they'll look like in real competition. Remember that the buzz out of spring last year was how awesome BVG and the offense was looking. We saw the results.

Schedule is brutal, again. Other than 3 OOC, I don't see any others that we're very likely to be favored in. I think 5 wins would be a good season, honestly, which severely dampens my enthusiasm for the upcoming season.

I hope I'm wrong but history is difficult to ignore.

Everyone is right on what should be the win total. What I have learned in the last few years is that you can't predict what kind of team Stoops will put on the field.

Not sure why everyone thinks the schedule is any worse than usual. I kind of think we came out okay. 7 home and 5 road is good; UT, Florida, and Ole Miss here is better. We play a couple of the weaker teams on the road which is best case scenario.

If everything holds up I can see 6 wins being a very real possibility. I can also see 3 wins being a real possibility.

4-8 or 5-7. Win against three OOC . We will be underdogs in remaining 9 games, but I think we win one or maybe two of them. Depending on how competitive we are in those games we lose and how full the stadium is will likely determine whether Stoops continues to coach at UK. Improvements have been made but every other team has done the same.

This is fair. It's definitely true that Stoops has earned some benefit of the doubt for his body of work here. But, the trend line is negative for the program while some of our competitors have a clear upward trend (South Carolina, Florida, Vandy, UT, Mizzou, and to a lesser extent, UL).

I had been thinking 5-7 or hopefully 6-6, but I was listening to That SEC Podcast and Mike's cohost was Steve Lassan, SR College FB Editor of Athlon Sports, and he claimed that he is having difficulty finding a single SEC win, that they would be underdogs in every game or maybe Vandy is a pick 'em and that he's not confident they'll definitely win against Toledo. Yikes!

My biggest fear is we go 5-7 and Mitch sees it as progress. I'd rather go 3-9 than 5-7 so we can put a nail in the coffin on the Stoops tenure.
This 100%
A 5 win season will create more seperation between UK and the programs that are on an upward trajectory. If a 3 win season causes a parting of the ways between UK and Stoops I will take that over a 5 or 6 win season.

Based on how much is owed to MS im not sure a 2 win season next year would get him canned. It will be spun as a rebuilding effort.

Will a 5 - 7 season quite the fans about firing Stoops?

Not even close. That's likely one of these two scenarios:

Wins - Toledo, Eastern Michigan, Tennessee Tech, UL, Vandy
Losses - Ole Miss, USC, UGA, Texas, UT, Auburn, Florida

Wins - Toledo, Eastern Michigan, Tennessee Tech, Vandy, Auburn
Losses - Ole Miss, USC, UGA, Texas, UT, UL, Florida

I fully expect us to be 2-7 or 3-6 9 games into the season.
