Just for fun... how many positions will be listed as "OR". I will take a guess at a few positions, but everyone else can add theirs

OFFENSE
RT: Flax OR Courtland
RB2: McClain OR Jefferson
QB2: Sheron OR Wade
Slot WR2: Anthony Brown OR Brandon White
TE2: Dingle OR Cummings

DEFENSE
SLB: Wade OR NB: Afari
CB2: either Hardaway OR Robinson IF Hardaway has won a #2 spot
..........or Hardaway OR Dunn IF Robinson has won a #2 spot

Based on what I've heard, I don't know that Kaiya Sheron isn't solidly QB2. Seems like he's really jumped this off-season.

Seems like that may be the case... I hope so. I also hope he gets lots of snaps b/c the Cats build up big leads and put the games out of reach by the 3rd quarter. If that happens, I would LOVE to see (but won't hold my breath) Stoops change a bit and let the 2nd string come in and run the whole offense to get game experience doing so.

IMO it was an effort to keep him out of the Portal and give him a chance to be evaluated by Coen.
Play the players who give you the best chance to win. That kid had no business playing. You don’t throw away a bowl game to appease one player or to evaluate them.

The concern was not about losing HIM to the Portal. Coaching staff was trying to keep HIS BROTHER from entering the Portal with him.

A certain school in Knoxville was hard after one so they could get both to transfer.

Again, you don’t give up a bowl game for a kid who isn’t ready to play to keep him and his brother from transferring. That’s a poor culture to have in your program. It was a huge misstep in my opinion.

It certainly wasn't good for the fanbase. CMS also stated publicly that he mishandled some situations last year brought on by NIL and the Portal that he would do differently in the future.

That could be one of them.

I get what you're saying. I also think the coaches wanted to see what Wade could do. If there is any game to do that, it's the bowl games. They got a look at Sheron earlier in the season. If what we heard is true...that they were pretty close in terms of who they thought gave them the best chance to win against a great Iowa defense. But..they should have yanked the kid way before the final series of the game when it was obvious he couldn't move the ball.

If any reason sticks out to me it’s because Scang was fired and Marrow was calling plays. Marrow called another game with Lynn Bowden. He wanted a running QB as he had only called plays with one.

Marrow may have been calling the plays, but that bowl game prep for offense and choice of QB to run the plays had Eddie Gran written all over it............

Wade is not a running QB. Not saying he’s immobile but he’s a drop back QB.

More mobile than Sharon or Hogan by far. But you are right. He didn’t look very athletic. Iowas defense/ our Oline, Marrow calling plays. We need the most mobile guy.
