How many major penalties tonight?

Eli had 2 holds, Kattus had a hold, Childress and Saunders had unsportsmanlike penalties, two or three PI, two or three PF. Did we have any 5-yard penalties tonight? Oh yeah, Walker jumped offsides to nullify a pick. That may be the only one. It was unbelievable watching us self destruct.

Yenser - gone. Woodward - gone. DL coach - thin ice. Mike Stoops - gone. Need some top flight coaches in here. Don't necessarily need recruiters anymore because we can fill up the roster with transfers (supposedly).

Killing ourselves with penalties, another couple of passing downs where we let a DL come through clean, bad technique by DL, LB and CB. Staff is not developing these guys and letting them play stupidly. Time to clean house.

Agree Yenser = gone, Woodward = gone, I would add the DB coach = gone. Stewart on the DL is coaching the Dline to do just exactly what Stoops wants and that is to stay in their lanes and eat up blockers. Mike Stoops probably coaches the most consistent group on the field with the inside backers.

I know we won't do it, but the scheme we're running on defense is too darn passive. Create some havoc on defense. Way too many plays tonight, our CBs lined up 10 yards from the LOS, basically conceding a 7 yard gain. Darn near every play. Who schemes like that? 8 or 10 7-yard plays will almost always result in points, if not a TD.

I am not advocating Joe Lee Dunn blitz on every play, but you can't sit back in a soft zone with no pressure on the QB and expect the defense to do anything other than allow teams to play pitch and catch all the way down the field.

Time to change it up because what we're doing isn't working

The problem with a massive firing is....1
1. Stoops has sort of done that route last few years. Fired Scangerello, RB coach last year.
2. Woodard is a Coen hand picked guy by Liam. So how would Coen feel about it. BUt I agree Woodard's unit has played poorly this year and not a ton better last year.
3. Yenser....I was in favor of firing him. But isn't his unit really running the ball at every single team? Ray Davis is leading SEC in rushing and his yards per carry is unreal good.....7.2 yards a tote is unreal this far into a season. But Yenser looks like he isn't a good recruiter thus far
4. The one guy to me that is dead weight is Buffano...the safeties coach. A no name Youngstown Stoops guy. Not a top recruiter. And Zion and Lovett have not been much to write home about. The UGA game....I'd almost swore our safeties were on the take missing so many assignments.

The unsportsmanlike conduct penalties are chapping me worse than anything else we do. Nothing is more avoidable than an unsportsmanlike penalty. Nothing. Simply keep your cool and you won't get one. Run a play, don't be an idiot during or after, done. Some of these players need reined in. Perhaps those penalties after the play should be met with a spot beside Stoops on the sideline for the remainder of the game, no matter the time or the player.

Don't forget Andru Phillips. Gives up a TD on a long pass by the.......punter. Later not ONE but TWO PIs. Totally overmatched CB trying to cover SEC WRs.

As the punter looked that direction and began to loft the ball, I thought "perfect, we've got this covered..." thinking there was no chance he wouldn't break that play up. Instead, he got totally cooked on a floater that seemed to linger in the air for half an hour. That was probably the saddest attempt at coverage ever witnessed.

Totally agree. It’s an issue, always been an issue and looks like it’s getting worse. CMS is old school and more than likely doesn’t want to take the fire from these guys but you’re not going to get away with it anymore and it’s hurting us.

It was embarrassing, honestly looked like me as a 10 yo trying to cover my 6’3 brother in nerf football.
