How many believe that Bubba Cunningham was "out of the room" when discussing UNC???!!!!!

Its pretty silly to think he broke the rules and then every person who witnessed who was in the room is helping in the conspiracy. That said, his presence was certainly there even if his body wasn't. The good ol boy system toed the line.

If I were a UNC fan I'd be completely embarrassed that my blue blood program has to win a play-in game to actually become the 11 seed.

Bubba Cunningham oversaw what was arguably the most corrupt athletic department in history at unc (and would have been justifiably fired if that school had any integrity), so I'm sure the selection in giving unc a bid was totally fair.
I was about to mention this. So the next time anyone says the NCAA has morals or standards, or holds schools accountable, just remember this back door deal.

NOT ME!!!!

That was RIDICULOUS!!!!
With a large number of people in the room, I think it would be foolish to lie about being or not being in the room. If he said he was not in the room, I one hundred percent (100%) believe him. If he was in the room, the truth would be leaked, so without a doubt he was OUT of the room. His thoughts and opinions may have been in the room but not him.

I totally believe that not only was he NOT in the room but also that his presence on the committee had NO influence on the committee whatsoever. UNC got in based on the merits of their incredible season! Oh, and by the way, I am wearing my tin foil hat. I also believe the so-called "rooferee" is actually a UK fan who always gave us a beneficial whistle.

I believe he was out of the room because if he were there it would be so blatant it would leak. But I also believe that his presence as head of the committee had to influence the others in the room. UNC gets cut and he walks back into the room staring everyone down… oh and he gets a $104k bonus for making the tournament! If Memphis lost the conference tournament and UAB stole a bid, UNC still would've somehow been the last team in.

Another form of more blatant influence he could've wielded (and now I'm being more conspiratorial) is when he was in the room and weighing in on resumes, he could be emphasizing the metrics that support Carolina's case more than those that don't. When he and the other committee representative did interviews after the selection show, they talked a lot about UNC's record in Quad 2 games (8-0). Who cares about their record in Quad 2 when they were 1-12 or 1-13 or whatever against Quad 1??

The committee added two new metrics this year that they consider (Bart Torvik and... I forget the second). I actually think they should narrow down the metrics thy use going forward. Having more numbers in front of you gives new ways to justify what you want to see rather than what should be. The bracketologists aren't always correct, but on Bracket Matrix 111/111 bracketologists had WVU in the field... they aren't always correct but they shouldn't ALL be wrong! And with the head of the committee being the AD of the last team in, at the very least it's a terrible look for the committee.

I’m pretty sure MB twisted some arms to get Bama into playoffs last year.

Not necessarily apples to apples because he’s not the AD of bama, but he is an SEC “good ole boy”

Also, I’m not totally upset with giving legacy programs the edge.

If that’s the precedent then it could help us some day.

Big brands with mass appeal should get the nod.

The UNC basketball fan and brand is like the Ohio State football fan and brand.

Not a city or airport in this country where you can’t find a bunch of them.

Reverse would be the case in football. Great UNC squad will get nudged out for OSU, or Bama…

If he was out of the room then he was on FaceTime with them still .
This.

They were very careful on their wording. They kept repeating "wasn't in the room."

I don't think I ever heard "He didn't take part in any conversation regarding UNC."

Regardless. He's friends with them. He got a bonus for UNC making the tournament. They helped him out.

There’s no way he can ethically take that bonus. Want a effing conflict of interest. This country has no standards or morals anymore. Disgusting if I’m being frank.

100k for basically scratching your own ass. What a joke.

I believe he was out of the room when they OFFICIALLY discussed UNCheat. But he had several "off the record" conversations with some proxies that talked for him during the debates.
Exactly. They’ve spent a week together. You know they went out to eat, for drinks, etc.

Difference is bama deserved in. They best UGA and were the sec champ.

Backup qb fsu from weak acc getting n would have been more like unc getting into this.

UNC and Duke, both can get by with anything. They get preferential, treatment. My dislike for both is immeasurable!! Rather he was in the room or not his influence was felt.

He made more on the bonus than most hard working Americans make in a year.

Let that sink in.

Corruption level on that one was a 10 on a 1-10 scale.

Beyond sickening

None of us should believe anything they say. Everyone on the Committee is just as corrupt as this asshole so what difference would it make if he was out of the room or not? It makes no difference and is irrelevant. THAT is the lie, folks, That he was "out of the room." That's the propaganda.

Hey now! His bonus was only more than what 87% of American workers make per year. All his friends are rich so he probably thinks $100,000 is his annual banana budget.
