How is the offensive scheme different from last year?

Limitations on the OL have limited use of TEs. More equal options on the outside means we're spreading the ball around. Pretty similar blocking scheme, I think. I've heard that the Shanahan scheme differs from McVey's but not sure I see much difference. FWIW, Rams aren't exactly tearing it up on offense this year so maybe scheme isn't quite as important as it's made out to be.

To be honest…..it’s about execution more than anything

- The Oline is the biggest issue as we know.
- But the TE room hasn’t had a good year IMO blocking especially has been poor than last year
- Levis has been poor at seeing pressure and getting the ball out as wel

Need to see the year play out if we hit another stride down the stretch…but Yenser has been poor coaching. And Scang getting most out of offense has been nothing to write home about

So many rave kn Shannahan…but he’s been at 49er like five years now and he’s lived off an elite D…..when exactly is he going to start lighting up scoreboard

Biggest difference is having playmakers available last year and not as much this year. WR was relatively healthy last year, his replacement has missed several games. Travyion Robinson needs to be back, healthy and have a big game for UK to have a shot at TN. Levis wasn't targeted by SEC headhunters or stripes nearly as much last year as this. Don't get me started on the whole CRod BS. Just can't have your good players on the sidelines for any extended period of time.

But don't we have 3 playmakers outside this year vs. 1 last year? Injuries have taken a toll, for sure.

Not sure that Yenser and Scan aren't doing a reasonably good job. Are the issues at OL scheme, experience, coaching or talent? Hard to know, imo.

Biggest difference ? Telling WL to set in the pocket and dont take off.. hurt us too. ( the philosophy change)

No, I’d say it’s fair to say the oline just isn’t that good. At least not yet.
