How Far Behind...

My reference is, could UK beart either of these teams EVEN fully healthy, the way they are playing...I think not
Im not agreeing with the OP but this is true, Duke and Florida are wayyyyyyyyyy better than they were in November. UK wouldn't come close to beating either of them now.

If it take 5 years to put a legit contender together I’d question whether he’d even still be here.

So is this your question or was it they are five years behind because that is two questions.
If the team Pope put on the floor stayed healthy that question was answered.

Not now. Duke is clearly better now than they were. Doesn’t mean we have no chance, but I think it’s fair to think we were what we were while these teams have more talent and got better.

That team has not been on the floor since then so it's all opinion at this point.

It's Portal Era CBB--this can change in a blink.

Pope now knows what is needed in the SEC and he acknowledged he had to get more people who could just make a play and get a bucket for themselves or teammates than he had this year.

Of the two programs mentioned-I like UF's future a lot more than Auburn's. Pearl wanting to stall ball and playing the wrong people....(Denver Jones getting beat off the dribble late as his great defender and YuckMouf Chaney Johnson coming in late when Cardwell is clearly the difference maker for that team but to Golden's credit he was going to foul Cardwell to put him at the FT line around 2 mins up 3 and Pearl's counter was to take him out so he took the bait)

Seeing Golden already lose two of his Assistants to HC jobs (he has OC/DC on his staff) will be interesting to see who he can get as replacements but I'd look how they play/he coaches and choose them over Auburn 100% of the time. He lets the guards rock and be aggressive and Pearl wants to play Calipari like and control everything.

It only takes one year. But our current roster for next year is way behind these teams. Maybe not Houston. Light years behind dook. Way behind fla and auburn
You still feeling this way? Wanna still tell us how our current roster is "light years" behind Duke, Florida and Auburn? Care to tell us who in the SEC has a better 2025-26 roster than ours currently?

You still think we can't compete anymore and are a mere shell of our former self like you stated in another post?

Things change swiftly in college ....well, age appropriate pro ball...
Auburn and Florida were first round outs last year. Both schools are losing some big pieces.
Ya never know.

With the transfer portal and all that other jazz, we've certainly caught up to the best. We are going to be top 5 next year and if we remain healthy, we could be a sustained top 5 team. Cut our losses in half at worst and potentially limit them to 3-4 before the tournament comes, at best and landing a number 1 seed.

...not a blast on Pope, but looking at UF and Auburn, Uk is at least 5 years behind...
Curious. Still feeling this way today? We were five years behind 10 days ago. How many of those years did we make up in the last 10 days?

So we beat Florida fully healthy. Are you saying that had we stayed fully healthy throughout the season, we wouldn't have seen the same level of improvement over the course of the season to where we couldn't have been competitive against either of those teams?

See my last post. Had we had Robinson and Krissa for a full season and Butler and Carr at 100% all season, You don't think we would have seen a similar level of season long improvement? When Robinson went down, he was on a tear and arguably our best player at the time.

Typical negative clown post from you that, much like your others, aged horribly.

serious question, d bag
Only you didn’t ask a question, you spouted off the first 13 words that found their way into your thoughts. Your post makes almost no sense, has zero substance, and reeks of being a desperate troll attempt.
