How does Travis Ford still have a head coaching job?

OK ST is not some powerhouse. Yeah they won 2 national titles when the school was not even called OK ST and back when WWII was going on I believe or maybe right after it ended. I remember they went back to back in the mid 40s sometime though. They have been to a couple Final Fours (2004 and 1995) since the glory years in the 40s, but that is about it.

Thank God Ford is at OK ST and was never hired here. He would have been a disaster.

Also, having a hard time finding when Ky wore Asics uniforms, especially as Joe B was a converse guy, and Pitino was Nike. Happy to be proved wrong, but I would research the authenticity of your Ford in game jersey. Check at Applebees, they're a good resource.

I'm gonna add, that this boards obsession with hating on Ford is borderline scary. 90% of the people that hate him haven't even met him. It's just a haters mentality. When others hate on a successful guy, people jump on.

If you've met Ford or have family/friends that know him, that's a valid opinion. I've seen him act like an ass, but I've also seen him be a nice guy.

He's not a serial killer. He was a great pg for UK, and loves Kentucky. Not everyone has a "super bad ass" personality.

I can't believe more people didn't set it straight. We've wore Apex, asics, converse, and Nike. I've got game used items by all of them. The game used asics items are far more valuable than the rest as they are incredibly rare. I've never seen another one minus the ones the seniors of that team have.

Oklahoma State just lost to George Mason. This guy has ONE career NCAA tournament win and it was in 2009. How has he stayed so long at OK State?

Well, let's see. Travis Ford has a 326-244 record with 6 NCAA Tournament appearances as a college head coach, including a 147-92 record with 5 NCAAT appearances as a Big 5 conference head coach. I guess that's why he still has a job. LOL! The arrogance of some of our fans never ceases to amaze me. Calipari makes it look easy, but it isn't easy. Recruiting basketball players to Oklahoma State isn't a picnic. Compared to most Big 12 coaches, Ford has been successful. If Oklahome State fired Ford, would they be able to hire a better coach and get better results? Probably not. Although 147-92 wouldn't get it done at Kentucky, there probably aren't 15 other programs in the country that wouldn't be happy with what Ford has accomplished. If you think Oklahoma State is legitimately 1 of the top 15 college basketball programs in the country in terms of facilities and recruiting turf, then we disagree. Ford has done well for them.
