How bad is Reds front office?

I wanted to start a thread since it is the Trade deadline just to see how bad the Reds get fleeced this trade deadline. Frankly, IMO the Reds FO is a joke. Putting aside the fleecing that Jocketty, and his boy, Williams took for Chapman in the offseason. The very strange huge (odd) amount of money given to the Cuban infielder that is considered good glove, no hit type. 5 million more than the best International player who by most scouts list as a cant miss prospect. Included is the fact the Reds can not sign anymore International players ffor 2 years without being penalized unless they trade and get international pool money due to huge signing of Cuban good glove, no hit player.

Let's put Reds rumors or trades on one thread:

I thought both the Chapman and Frazier deals were below par. I bet the same will go for Bruce.

Can some analyze what prospects the Reds got from the Yankees for Chapman vs what the Yankees got from the cubs?

Reds received: 3B Eric Jagielo, RHP Rookie Davis, 2B Tony Renda, and RHP Caleb Cotham

No player was rated among the Top 100 prospects in baseball. Currently, Rookie Davis is rated as the #8 prospect in Reds' organization. Jagielo is rated as the #24. Cotham and Renda are not rated in the Top 30 prospects for the Reds. Renda was having a pretty good season at Double-A and recently promoted to Triple-A. Cotham has pitched 24 subpar innings in relief for the Reds this season.

Yankees received: SS Gleyber Torres, RHP Adam Warren, OF Billy McKinney, and OF Rashad Crawford

Torres is rated as the #1 prospect for the Yankees organization, and the #26 overall prospect. (The Reds' top prospect is Nick Senzel, and he is rated #56 overall.) Billy McKinney is the Yankees' #13 prospect. Warren is a mediocre major league starter, and Crawford has never made it above A-ball in 5 minor league seasons.

Reds traded Todd Frazier to the Chicago White sox in a 3 team trade that involved the LA Dodgers. Reds received 3 Dodger minor league players(rumored to be players originally traded for Chapman) Jose Peraza-At the time ranked #24 of top 100 prospects(Dodgers #3 ranked prospect but is blocked by Brandon Phillips and Zach Cozart, Scott Schebler- Ranked # 13 at time in Dodgers organization(Louisville Bats LF), and a throw in AA player Brandon Dixon not in Dodgers top 30 at the time, currently in AA ball. White Sox sent a package of better prospects than Reds received in Trayce Thompson- #45 in top 100 prospects and currently the Dodgers 4th outfielder, Micah Johnson- 2b up and down player between Majors and AAA currently in AAA for D. Frankie Montas-hard throwing hit 100mph reliever ranked #54 of top 100 prospects.

I laugh when some Reds fans that are friends of mine, complained that Dusty was the reason the Reds didn't win the NL pennant. I bet they think the current manager is the dumbest guy on the block. Dusty won with SF, the Cubs, the Reds, and now is playoff bound with the Nats !!:baseball:

Looks like a deal is in place to send Bruce to Mets for OF Brandon Nimmo and 2 unnamed low level prospects. These low level minor leaguers should be top 10 prospects for Mets or Reds FO got shafted again. You trade a all star OF that leads NL in Rbi's and a low cost player(compared to most salaries) for Nimmo who is at best a 4th outfielder on most teams is not a good trade. Ill hold my opinion till I know who the low level players are.

Now looks like Bruce for Dilson and A ball pitcher Wotell instead of Nimmo and 2 others due to a medical issue with a player and the deal got worse for the Reds. Again the Reds continue to amaze how inept they are in dealing star players.

Wotell was the Mets 16th best prospect according to MLB.com and he's just 19. J.J. Cooper from Baseball America likes Herrera a lot. The Reds netted about what I expected for Bruce.. no team was going to give up an elite prospect for him.

in comparison, the Giants got Will Smith a middle reliever

Bruce leading league in Rbi's and was a all star, realistically I do no think anyone expected a star prospect back in return, but to get Herrera another middle infielder where he is blocked by Cozart and Phillips just like Peraza is a little strange. Nimmo was better choice, and possibly the higher ceiling guy. I expected at least 2 top 10 prospects from the Mets for Bruce.
