How are yall going to feel

knowing that next year might not be a full roster of contributors as well?

We've seen what Coach Pope has done with a roster put together over just a few weeks, and that's been great up until the injuries started. However, it's possible we don't have a roster with 10 contributors going into next season as well, so 3 people injured might make things tough next year. How will yall handle it?

Of course we're still recruiting for the current class, and yes there will be free agency, but how do you put together a full roster able to withstand injuries without seeing what results such a roster can do this season? I thought it would be his 3rd season before he could show as a coach what his ceiling might be, then we got spoiled with that early season success (that more experienced players can give you). I didn't entirely abandon that mindset, so I didn't get as down as most here did over the last 7 games.

If we go through a stretch like this next year, are you giving up hope for Pope?
What team has 10 contributors?

Like I mentioned in another post if Coach Pope’s expectations is to hang banners like he was quoted as saying. Then guess what that is also my expectation as a fan!

He can’t pull what Calipari did when he first took over talking about passing UCLA in titles and never live up to it. Pope talked about hanging banners so he better hang some banners!

What team has 10 contributors?

2015 Cats had 10 awesome contributors for one.

Looking at box scores of games this year I recall at least 2 opponents that had 9-10 contributors in their games.

As a team, I think youd ideally like to have 6-7 guys where there isnt any drop off in talent, and 3-4 competent backups that can solidly contribute if there are injuries. That's one part of a winning formula. Rare, sure, but you can't set the bar low in recruiting/retention either.

I think Pope did about as good as he could of assembling the roster. The portal was already wide open when Ky had not a single player. We had a really good team and things where rolling before the injuries and we still beat UT at their place. When you have guys like Almonor starting, who's a great dude and shooter but not at the level of most if not all SEC wings great coaching isn't gonna help. We need physical athletic players to compete in the SEC. Pope is a smart dude, I'm sure he's all over it. To me it's as simple as this, if we get healthy we can still get to maybe a sweet 16. That's how I see the teams ceiling. If we can do that, I'd give Pope an A+
