How ANGRY are you about this loss?

This team doesn't fight very hard and frankly it's hard to care when they obviously don't. I was dumbfounded last night and I'm more resigned today than anything.

We're waiting for the switch to flip but you can't turn a team this soft into one that can handle a grinder in March. Our guys foul because they don't want it bad enough. They get stripped because they don't want it bad enough. They get outrebounded because they don't want it bad enough. Brings me back to my original point: if these guys don't care, why should I?

Thought we had turned the corner (cliché) I know - but after the Kansas game, we get the 21 point lead I was thinking " Damn, Cal's done it again!" We are going to go on a nice winning streak. Any talk of a 2 seed is, and probably was already, dead. 4 maybe the ceiling.
The silver lining is that outside of Oklahoma, we can compete with any team on a neutral court. I think we could compete with them to an extent, just want no part of them.

I'm not mad at all but disappointed and a little confused.

Did Cal misjudge the talent of these players by that much?

Is there some negative team dynamic happening that we're not aware of?

Does Cal have any kind of plan in place to turn this around?

My expectations for this team changed. Just don't have the fire they need right now and likely won't. To take KU to OT in Lawrence and then lose to UT is confusing. One step forward and two steps back. UK's frontcourt is obviously more interested in other things. Lee and Skal have the hand strength of newborns.

Unfortunately I don't think there's a plan. Its not like we can stick in players from the bench and be better. Our bench is pretty awful this year. Cal just has to hope the starters, especially our big men get it together.

I'm frustrated to have to watch an inferior 5-star (Skal) get way more playing time than he deserves just because he's a, well, 5-star. But I'm only frustrated and not wishing for another coach or system. It is what it is and, in the long run, the good has far, far, exceeded the bad.

It's extremely disappointing to lose a 21 point lead, but I've come to expect games like this with Cal's less dominate teams. Fans, coaches, and players for these bad SEC teams go all in for 1 game a year, when UK comes to town, and it doesn't matter to them if UK is 25-0 or 15-10. The players feed off the one good crowd they'll have all year, the refs buy into the energy of the arena, and the coaches know a win over even a bad UK team is enough to keep their job.

All that isn't an excuse for losing to a horrible and undersized Tennessee team, but its become the norm and Ive sadly come to expect it. I still think theyll win out at home and likely roll through the SEC tournament. You're right that the interior is soft, but with the way this year has gone across the country, a player like Murray getting hot is all you'll need to carry you through a regional.

That sums it up nicely......we are the only game the Vols will ever sell out that dump to see.
