Hmm. Mizzou Suspends Mauk

He's been terrible all year. I don't know what team rules got him suspended, but his past success against us, IMO, is why he was allowed to start against us. I think he'd have likely been benched otherwise.

This was reported on the SEC Network last night. Not that matters all that much to us, apart from the long-term implications of the East Division Standings, but Drew Lock will be making his first start against the Gamecocks. The loser of that game will be in a fight out to stay of the cellar with Vandy.

Even with the little we saw of Lock, he looked the better long-term answer for them. Better arm despite the one significant underthrow.

Mauk and an OT with the infamous "violation of team rules" thingy, announced Tues night.

I posted that because, at the time, OP had forgotten to provide the link.

I figured they'd go with the freshman once mathematically eliminated.

I was impressed with the frosh in his one series...but I think this helps SC have a good chance to go in there and steal a win.

I thought their frosh looked good too. SCAR's starting a frosh also, Nunez who UK recruited some, and he looked good in his first start last week. Could be an early preview of what may turn out to be 2 top SEC QBs in a couple of years.

Him taking a sack was even worse. That put them out of FG range. It ended up not making that much of a difference but it was pretty big at the point it happened. They could have gone to half time leading.
