Class A Unsporting Technical Infractions

Art. 1. A player or substitute committing an unsportsmanlike act including, but not limited to, the following:

  1. Disrespectfully addressing an official or gesturing in such a manner as to indicate resentment.
  2. Using profanity or vulgarity; taunting, baiting or ridiculing another player or bench personnel; or pointing a finger at or making obscene gestures toward another player or bench personnel.
  3. Inciting undesirable crowd reaction.
  4. Contacting an opponent, while the ball is dead, in an unnecessary, unacceptable and excessive manner.
  5. Flagrantly (severe or extreme) contacting an opponent while the ball is dead.
  6. A flagrant noncontact infraction that involves extreme, sometimes persistent, vulgar, abusive conduct when the ball is dead or live.
  7. Participating after having been disqualified (noncontact flagrant 2 technical).
  8. Leaving the playing court and going into the stands when a fight may break out or has broken out (flagrant noncontact infraction).
  9. Fighting as in Rule 10-5.
  10. Disrespectfully contacting an official

As you can see, what Humphries did is not listed. It would fall under the discretion of the officials. Pat Adams did not have to give Humphries a T because he was excited about making a potential game winning play. Don't let anyone tell you differently. It IS NOT the rule.

Pin this.

I want out of the sec. They have big money in football, but they would lose millions without us propping them up from january to april.

They'll just say it falls under # 3 and move on to the next town.

That's just it. They can say whatever they want.

If you want to go with number 3, you could T up the road team all night long.

Home team makes 3 goggles = happy crowd

Road team makes 3 goggles = incite crowd

Nice job OP. Th sad thing is that Hump was just excited for himself and in no way was he trying to disrespect or taunt any player or official.

Yep and had a Duke player done what Hump did then it would have been a "Play on". Disgraceful, it really is.

They could give Plumlee a T every time he hugs somebody.

We would still be shooting T's for all of Wojo's floor slapping.

I think that straight down spikes in anger or the spike that bounces 20 feet high are usually called. I've saw quite a few balls bounce higher than that and nothing called. No way you call that in that situation. Pat Adams is one of those guys that always seems to be in the middle of something like that.

Yeah, I'm not even mad about the T. What pisses me off is the ref was willing to make that call, yet Murray was hammered on the other end the play before with no call. I'm sure the refs justification for swallowing their whistles on that play was to not decide the game. Humphries should've been given the same benefit of the doubt.

Just in a nutshell sums up the sad state of officiating today. Its an epidemic .Couldn't understand the T on Billy Kennedy, who is one of the most soft spoken coaches in the league, coming out of the timeout either. You have to let players decide the game in basketball. Didn't happen tonight and its a total joke.
