My man John Nabors and Locked on Arkansas. Gold, solid gold.

However, I am getting tired of hearing these Arkansas media guys saying we didn't predict this.

Well no, how were we supposed to know the SEC was going to be this great? We didn't know this in the summer, but by December, we knew Arkansas was in deep crap.

We told them Cal was washed, we told them Welsh was the reason for the great offense last year, we told you he was lazy, we told you he only cares about the draft, we told you he needs extreme talent to win and we told you he replaced Welsh and Antiqua with his idiot kid and Kenny Payne. All the information was there. It was up to you guys to do your own research. You heard what you wanted to hear.

Enjoy.

Well hes right all the flags were flying on Cal how he become to comfortable and was coasting, to his pushing his nba agenda, and his coaching in game was a C if that. Maybe he takes off next year and proves everyone wrong but the pattern is what it is. Good listen and I'm not on the Cal bashing wagon but its definitely good cheap entertainment.

The guy is mostly wrong about Cal messed up with the roster. The roster is good enough to win SEC games with the right coach. Cal is an average coach. He is the best recruiter in history' but very average at everything else.
100% correct.

Everyone in the country had Arkansas ranked in the teens, well ahead of UK.

They did this for years when he was at UK, but eventually the pollsters learned their lesson. When it comes to Cal, just having really good talent, isn't enough, he has to have great talent.

That's what Arkansas fans will eventually learn. They are hoping this is just a 1 year bust, no, it's not, there are no HS recruits coming in to hide how bad Cal is right now and in fact, if you want to win in college, you need to find the best veteran talent. The game is too physical and advanced for unpolished freshmen.

Problem is, Cal couldn't care less about winning college games, so he's not going to construct an offensively based, veteran roster out of the portal.

I thought the same. In fact this guy and their fans were running around spiking the football about getting Z, Thiero, Fland, Nelly from the portal and retaining Brazile(sp?). I think they're grasping for reasons not to blame coaching, because they know that's the one thing that can't be fixed as long as JVC is there and now they're on the hook for $35 mil.

Towns was asked about Calipari's recruiting pitch and said that he's a good salesman.

He has 2 good guards (both under 175lbs) coming in next year. I can see them being like Rutgers this year, great players that get theirs and the others trying to picking up misses. They could win 7-8 games in the conference next season if the league is down.

Yeah I am really enjoying watching reality set in with him. I told him on his smug summer video they would lose at least 12 games and barely make the tournament. I laid out all the issues they are facing now, and maybe soon a player(Fland) sitting out injured with no return date. Calipari also ruins some good players(Davis.)

Only Cal can take a 4 year final four guard who averaged 19 a game against great competition and make him look terrible. He’s averaging 8 points a game. No team scheme changes, no zone, no shooting, and relying on guys who aren’t ready to have to come together to be good.

Now his best Freshman is hurt and is shooting a typical 20% in conference from 3 and not much better from 2. 2-13 for Fland last game. Cal also not playing guys for 5-6 games in a row and then starting them 30 minutes a game out of nowhere like Z has been in conference play. Guys who probably deserve PT riding the bench like Richmond.

I didn’t think they would go winless so far, but I knew .500 would be their ceiling in this conference. He choose not to hear it from many like me. We told him Welch left too and that was his saving grace offensively.

One of their pre-season videos to feed your need for schadenfreude. So may good quotes in this one (especially their mocking UK fans for their frustrations with Cal).

I would love to see them talk about it now. I think they wish they had Muss back now. Lol
We have evidence that Pope is a better coach right now and which team is going to the tournament.

How does Cal not see that he is the problem? How is he not seeing how many players struggle in his ISO street ball system, then, almost as soon as they leave, they look so much better? How the hell does he justify what he is seeing?

I get it, some players played really well under Cal, but those players were special. He legit thinks the problem is the players, because Derrick Rose, John Wall, Teague, Knight, Murray, Ulis and Fox killed it in college. How can such an experience coach be so blind?

The guy is completely mental and he justifies everything, so it's never him that is screwing up.

IDK man, he is racking up the embarrassing failures left and right and he still doesn't get it.

I'm glad he's Arkansas' problem now. We got sooooo lucky.

He’s was a great recruiter in part because he chose to become an nba factory where he needed to replace most of team each year. There was guaranteed minutes . But I don’t see how he’s the best in history considering coach K waxed his ass whenever he went head to head with him after a recruit.

That older video is pure absolute gold. So many quotes that turned out to be 100% wrong. They had no idea what they were getting - we did. Granted, no one thought things would blow up with Cal to this level this quick, but it is absolutely a joy to witness.

I would argue he hasn’t been the best recruiter in history.

Was he the best at assembling the highest rated kids with amazing NBA talent? Yes, the recruiting rankings and even success on the court for many years bore that out.

But, I would argue the point of recruiting is assembling the best possible TEAM of complimentary pieces to win games at the level for which the team is assembled.

In that regard, I would argue he hasn’t been the best possible recruiter. His teams have frequently lacked multiple perimeter shooting threats, which never made sense to me considering how much he has always wanted an offensive identity of attacking the rim. How much more open would those driving lanes be if he always had 2-3 perimeter threats on the floor?

So, to be such an amazing recruiter, it never seemed like he even recruited the best possible way for his own identity.

Okay, here's another video. This the channel where the 3 best Arkansas podcasters work together. These have been great this year and they absolutely hate reading UK fans comments, even though UK fans are boosting their channels more than they have ever seen.

My argument for Cal’s recruiting legacy is this:
Has there ever been this number of all-star caliber NBA players in the league from one school? Not even close.

Because he’s uber successful and to be that successful those guys are usually very ego driven and believe they are the best with no flaws. That’s why they succeed so far but when things get bad only certain ones listen to anyone around them.

What a bunch of pansies, yes! Just give up please. Accept a winless conference season. All the other teams in the SEC need an easy win.

It’s sad he has such a great career and he could have kept it up had he kept his fire and listened to those around him instead of living in a yes man, friendly bubble Of assistants and didn’t change. He is really doing a number on his career and how people remember him. I feel bad because I loved him here and he was once a great coach.
