This kid is going to be an absolute freak and a nightmare for defenders. His stroke is unreal. But, Humphries is better.

Yeah, but can he keep his starter spot for the entire year? TBD.

Anyone have Humphries latest mix tape?

He is the best high school player that I have ever seen in person. His team was atrocious but Skal is the real deal.

Awesome touch on the jumper and with range. When does he get on campus?

Ulis
Briscoe
Murray
Skal
Humphries

Love the way the dude moves and it's not like he's on twigs like Brandon Ingram. His body is looking good, has some shoulders and I imagine UK will have him playing at about 225 or so by November.

Can't believe I'm saying this, but he may be every bit as talented as Towns.

This kid has talent. He will not play behind anyone this year. Go Cats!!

If Poy isn't ready to go it will be interesting to see if Marcus has improved enough to not let Humphries challenge him for that starter spot.

Reminds me of another insanely talented and versatile post player we had recently.

Skal actually reminds me more of John Henson than he does Anthony Davis.

Am I wrong?
I think Skal looks to be far more athletic and fluid than Henson. I would say he reminds me more of Rasheed Wallace.

91% probability he won't make a shot beyond 5 feet until some time in late February. i think that's when the brow was allowed to take his first one...
The brow actually struggled quite a bit to make anything outside of a dunk until January. He shot plenty, it just took a while for him to get comfortable. Once he did, he started adding different parts to his offense nearly every game.

I certainly hope Skal can avoid an early shooting slump like Davis'.

you guys realize the Humphries thing was a joke/part of a contest, right?

John Henson? Aldridge? Man I'm telling you guys. Anthony Davis is the only comparison for this kid.

I think Skal is just a notch below Anthony Davis good and that is saying something.

Yes. Definitely wrong. Skal and AD are what Henson should have been.

Skal looks like the #1 overall to me. I dont see teams passing on their chance to draft the next AD.

I want to be wrong. I obviously hope he's more Anthony Davis than John Henson. I'm not ready to say Skal is what Henson should have been considering Skal has yet to play a college game. Henson came in with a lot of hype, too.

John Henson was the #5 rated prospect in his class. Not #1, but he was a highly coveted prospect. This is how his scouting report reads:

"Henson is a budding prospect. At a very thin 6-foot-10, Henson is an intriguing combo forward prospect. His weight would be more of an issue if he were primarily an interior player, but Henson prefers to face the basket. He is developing a reliable three-pointer, and although his ball handling has room for improvement, he does have the ability to slash to the rim. Defensively, his length causes problems."

Skal is awesome…but the AD comps just need to stop.

AD wingspan is around 7'5/ 7'6, while Skal wingspan is an average 7'1. Also, Skal is bouncy but he doesn't have AD's stupid lateral quicks/fluidity.

according to some scouting reports Meeks and Lamb were also slashers, not shooters
take those reports with a grain of salt

The kid is the real deal, no question; I can't wait to see him in blue. Love the hook shot, and he has great footwork in the paint as well, always a huge plus.

I don't watch the NBA much but of what I have I can say that his stroke is a lot like K.Durant's (in style, not production) With his size and how smooth he shoots it, I really can see the similarities there. Now KD is one of the most Clutch shooters of the last decade so that comparison may be to lofty but I can see Skal being that kind of player if he maxes out his talent.

AD's wingspan was officially measured at 7'5.5 when he entered the league and has mysteriously grown 2 inches in 2 years to 7'7.75...? Could it be the wider back/shoulders?

Kevin Durant. Skal is the the SF we have been looking for. I know most will dismiss this without a thought, but Cal would really be limiting Skal if he only played him as a 5. I think that is why we brought in Humphries, a true Center. Now he can allow Skal to play his face up game.

Cal is going to run an NBA style offense, why wouldnt you with the personnel he has? Call him a 3, a 4 or whatever he can play the hybrid forward, stretch 4 position. He is going to be an absolute killer.

Exactly, just like he did with KAT...
